Position Description

Maximize revenue for designated account package by growing sales within existing accounts, identifying and developing new accounts at a level consistent with or exceeding company expectations

Position Requirements:

  • Understand customer needs and objectives and remains alert and responsive to changing customer needs

  • Demonstrate knowledge of market data and access to resources to quickly respond to new developments in the customer's business

  • Demonstrate consistent focus on actions and tactics that will produce positive sales results

  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the customers' products and services to formulate business strategies to drive revenue

  • Understand Grainger's Value Proposition and can clearly articulate to customers, providing solutions to grow profitable sales

  • Communicate in an organized, clear and concise manner to effectively express ideas, plans, actions, and projects to support customer needs

  • Establish customer and market priorities to execute a strategic course of action to accomplish sales goals

  • Develop and implement account penetration strategies to include regular business reviews for key customers to maximize sales

  • Demonstrate full compliance to company sales and pricing guidelines

  • Fully leverage all resources and technical support available

  • Document, analyze, and understand impact of customer focused activities to increase productivity and sales within assigned market

  • Self-motivated, possessing a high energy level and a desire to achieve goals beyond what is required

  • Business acumen around sales forecasting opportunity management and customer planning

  • Technological capabilities and understanding to communicate in today's business environment

  • Ability to listen, gain trust and bring to closure an action, project, resolution or sales with customers

  • Ability to clearly articulate business drivers, understand key financial and total cost of ownership concepts with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to utilize sales process to uncover customer objections/concerns, and determine appropriate solutions

  • Ability to maintain a plan of action until desired results is achieved

  • Strong process discipline, ability to align planning objectives with a pipeline development process to grow and develop market revenue

  • Knowledge of Maintenance Repair & Operations (MRO) products and their applications a plus

  • High School diploma and/or GED required

  • College or equivalent experience preferred Minimum of 3+ years of direct outside sales experience

  • Experience selling to Government and/or Public Sector Accounts preferred

JOB SUMMARY Under moderate supervision, manage and develop a portfolio of commercial deposit relationships and ensure retention of total client assets and net growth in relationships, while complying with established Associated Banc-Corp risk management and credit policy, business strategy and regulatory guidelines. The Relationship Manager will work closely with internal partners to facilitate the development of new business relationships as well as develop prospects through COIs and other proactive measures. The Relationship Manager will play a vital role in the growth and development of the commercial banking portfolio and market share. Primary focus will be generate commercial deposits to our existing client base, as well as to prospects. In addition to deposits, the Relationship Manager will build loans, fee income and refer appropriate customers and prospects to all applicable cross-sell partners, including Commercial Deposits & Treasury Management (CDTM), Capital Markets, Private Banking, Private Client and Institutional Services, Associated Financial Group, Employee Benefit Services, Retail Bank-at-work, etc. KEY RESULT AREAS New Business Development Deposit Growth Fee income generation (Loans and other services) Cross-Sell Asset Quality Community Involvement Collaboration Communication Risk Management Negotiation and Influence Relationship management Retention of client portfolio Knowledge of loan and deposit spreads JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES * Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines. * Responsible for deposit growth through client portfolio, centers of influence and other proactive measures to grow market share, as well as retain / grow existing portfolio. Client and prospect calling activity consists of telephone, in person calling and working collaboratively with internal partners. * The Relationship Manager is to develop commercial banking relationships by profiling and analyzing financial data, along with the Portfolio Manager, to determine the merits of specific loan requests and recommend structure. * The position is responsible for working collaboratively with internal partners to cross sell all bank products and services, especially non-borrowing services, including Commercial Deposit & Treasury Management (CDTM), Capital Markets, Private Banking, Private Client & Institutional Services, Associated Financial Group, Employee Benefit Services, Retail Bank-at-work, etc., to our existing client base and to prospective customers. * Participate in the banks loan approval process * Provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends though bank approved sources. * Participate in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank.
