What's the opportunity?
It's an exciting time to join C.H. Robinson's Global Forwarding office in Wood Dale, IL. We're looking for a driven, forward-thinking individual to support our strong growth trajectory as an account manager. You'll manage a select group of medium sized accounts, build strong relationships with account leadership and establish your credibility as a trusted advisor. You will be responsible for performing a variety of functions including (1) establishing a regular cadence of frequent customer contact, (2) working with the client and pricing teams to ensure market competitiveness and earn new business, (3) enhancing revenue and customer adhesion by cross selling new products or services, and (4) ensuring a high degree of customer satisfaction
What will you be doing?
Manage a portfolio of 25+ clients with an aggregate annual net revenue of 2MM USD
Initiate and cultivate strong relationships with customer contacts at varied levels based on account complexity and need
Establish check-ins/business reviews as appropriate, dictated by the needs and preferences of the customer
Grow portfolio net revenue by a minimum ten percent annually
Maintain an opportunity pipeline large enough to support growth goals
Retention of minimum 85% of portfolio of clients as measured through annual net revenue erosion
Provide excellent customer service; be responsive to business needs and day to day event/problem resolution while managing customer expectations
Provide fast, competitive pricing to secure shipment opportunities with the customer
Educate clients on CHR tools and technology; identify opportunities where CHR solutions can increase client satisfaction or drive operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to cross sell C.H. Robinson's 8 core services to portfolio customers
Understand supply chain terminology and concepts; educate self on current best practices and methods to support customer's supply chain
Conduct monthly lite SWOT analysis and report key findings to management during monthly portfolio reviews
What are we looking for?
Minimum 3 years of Freight Forwarding operations or Account Management experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Ability to build strong customer relationships
Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others
Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelor's Degree preferred
