About This Role:

We are looking for a top-producing sales professional who can assist us in growing our existing account base in the US federal government. An Account Manager who has prior experience selling business services to senior-level government executives in a highly competitive market would be an advantage. He or she must excel at finding and closing new business and maintaining and building on current relationships. The Account Manager must also be able to command presence with his or her strong business acumen. Success in this position requires a transparent and repeatable sales process.

The Account Manager must meet his or her quota on a monthly and quarterly basis, which will require upsell and cross-sell to existing clients, as well significant prospecting efforts within client accounts to generate a consistent new pipeline. The Account Manager will have the opportunity to demonstrate Forrester's capabilities and business fit to top government executives on a daily basis. This position requires travel as needed.


  • Maintain and develop client relationships within an existing account base.

  • Understand client missions to align and propose appropriate services.

  • Cross-sell to close appropriate new business from new buyers/suborganizations within client accounts. Sell primarily to senior management (program/mission leaders) at prospect accounts.

  • Maintain the minimum weekly/daily metrics for the role and an appropriate sales pipeline of five times quota.

  • Produce accurate and timely forecasts.

  • Understand client missions to align and propose appropriate services.

  • Develop a complete understanding of Forrester's full array of product offerings, with some emphasis on custom deliverables.

  • Translate products and solutions into positive business outcomes.

  • Understand the changing business and technology issues and needs that our clients face.

  • Work with vertical and horizontal research teams to better understand the Forrester value proposition for clients and prospects.


  • Five-plus years of proven sales success in client management or consultative selling.

  • The ability and willingness to make cold calls and book meetings.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Proven experience in a similar role, specifically with new-business development, achieving quota goals, and managing personal sales strategies.

  • Effective presentation, organization, and time management skills.

  • A team player.

  • A fast learner who is at ease with technology.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Coachable.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Summary Objective: The Receivable Management (RM) – Account Manager is responsible for assisting US Fitness, Club General Managers, and individual members with managing member account receivables through correction, payment, payment with reinstatement, or external placement. Essential Functions: * Deliver the Ultimate Fitness Experience to every member, every time * Process requested member payments, account corrections and modifications in a timely manner * Communicate with Club General Manager(s) and external placement agencies regarding changes and/or payments on member accounts * Communicate with members regarding their account balance * Keep electronic record of all actions, transactions, corrections, etc. Job Responsibilities: * Work with the respective Club General Manager regarding updates and corrections * Work with the semi-automated updates of Autopay payment information within the US Fitness database * Handle outbound dunning communications and the corresponding Inbound account payments and corrections * Process external unpaid member accounts through third-party external agencies * Interact with members via telephone, email, facsimile, or on-site meeting * Perform maintenance and/or correction of member accounts using tendered information * Review member account balances for new activity to include additional charges, failed payments, or account corrections * Process payments against member account balances using credit card, check, or cash * Record payments as received, or, implement a payment plan if needed and approved * Cancel and/or update member accounts with unpaid balances * Prepare member accounts for external collection placement if needed * Interact with external placement agencies and act as a liaison on behalf of former member * Communicate with Club General Mangers regarding member account balances and unpaid/unresolved accounts as needed * Communicate with Member Services personnel as it relates to account corrections and updates * Communicate with Department Heads as needed * Attend all scheduled trainings and meetings * Work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed * Assume other duties as assigned Education and Certifications: * H.S. Diploma or GED preferred * Continuing education through in-house seminars and training sessions Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) Required: * Fundamental understanding of the limitations of handling internal receivables and the eventual implications of placed receivables falling under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) * Understand membership account structure and mechanics within the membership database software * Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills * Excellent listening skills * Ability to motivate and nurture others * Outwardly facing professional appearance * Confidence and desire to create new relationships quickly * Ability to quickly acquire and apply new knowledge and skills * Ability to manage team members effectively * Strong work ethic that includes punctuality, organization, and attention to detail * Ability to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude * Ability to handle challenging customer experiences with patience, tact, and professionalism * Understanding of basic cash procedures * Basic computer skills * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to communicate effectively via email and phone * Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks * Exhibit a professional and polite appearance and demeanor Physical Activities Required: Physical demands listed here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform essential job functions.
