Job Summary

Brown & Brown of Florida, IncFort Lauderdale is growing and seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, and commitment to join our team as Account Manager for our Employee Benefits Division. Our clients are employers, and we offer them cost-effective benefit packages for their employees and dependents, that include medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA's, FSA's, STD, LTD, and more. The Account Manager maintain and strengthen business relationships with an assigned group of clients. The individual will work closely with Producers, Marketing Reps, Customer Service Reps, and other Brown & Brown staff to service clients, implement and renew group benefit plans, and seek opportunities to increase our services and all Brown & Brown product offerings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure Overall Client satisfaction by proactively managing and anticipating the day to day needs of clients through regular phone contact and occasional clients visits;

  • Establish a Client Service Plan (per company guidelines) with each client based on mutual goals and objectives and maintain a monthly progress report of Service Plan activities for management review;

  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with vendors, as well as internal staff;

  • Manage implementation of all carrier or plan changes including verifying plan benefits sold, rates, proper paperwork submission, and coverage verification;

  • Support clients in attaining compliance with governmental requirements by staying informed of new legislation and participating in available training;

  • Complete the Marketing Checklist with the Account Managers;

  • Manage Quality Control requirements; Maintain account files and oversee that documents are placed into appropriate sections for Quality Control guidelines;

  • Review and analyze policies, benefit summaries, SPD's, forms, and rates for accuracy;

  • Work with Producer or Benefits Consultant and Marketing Rep to develop renewal proposals (to be presented by the producer or Benefits Consultant); Responsibilities may include comparative spreadsheets;

  • Utilize Agency Management System as required by company policy;

  • Oversee coordination of client service initiatives including, but not limited to online enrollment systems, Coordination of Health Fairs and Wellness initiatives, website tools, member surveys, open enrollment materials and meeting schedules, etc.;

  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned.

Required Skills

Required EDUCATION & SKILLS:

  • 3+ years' experience of employee benefits account management with an agency, health insurance carrier, PEO, or similar

  • Experience working with group sizes that are 50+ employee lives, Middle Market and Large Group

  • Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of employee benefits

  • Working knowledge of Affordable Care Act, 5500, SPD, Medicare Part D, HIPAA and other compliance areas

  • Strong customer service mindset and focus

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Must conduct yourself with high ethical principles at all times

  • 4 year college degree preferred; High School Diploma is minimum requirement

  • Knowledge of TAM (Applied Systems) and Brokerage Builder preferred

  • Florida License in Life, Health & Annuities (215), or required within 90 days of employment

  • Bilingual Spanish and English a PLUS!

This position is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service and leadership to accounts, as well as represent client need and goals within the organization to ensure quality. Major Responsibilities: * Individual would manage a complex book of business comprised of clients who are located both locally and nationally and are comprised of various funding methods, advanced contract features and structure that requires a higher level of experience and technical expertise. * Responsible for acting as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers and retaining clients through customer service which includes open and clear communication channels with clients, producers and internal partners. Ensure accurate and timely responses occur between all parties. * Ability to lead client meetings regarding renewal and utilization results in the absence of the Account Executive and/or Producer. * Identify problems, summarize and develop strategic solutions with the client by incorporating the company's culture, mission and future staffing needs into our recommended strategic solutions. * Expected to attend client meetings on site at their location(s). On occasion overnight travel may be required. * As needed, preparation of materials needed for client meetings including but not limited to agendas, reports, calendars, etc. * Expected to have regular client contact as established by the client service calendar and renewal timeline. Client contact will include all methods: electronic, telephonic and in person. * Educate, advise and aid clients on all Compliance topics including, but not limited to, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform. * Communicate due dates, timelines and expectation to clients and partners. * Install new group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients effectively utilizing resources to match client needs. * Administer renewals including preparing appropriate contractual changes. * Conduct on-site meetings to communicate to employees and/or administrator about their benefit plans. * Develop employee memorandum drafts for client to communicate the following; annual renewal changes, enrollment procedures, miscellaneous benefit changes and/or clarifications. * Provide resolution support and oversight of employee issues such as enrollment and billing issues. When the Benefit Resource Center is not engaged, support with escalated claim issues is also expected. * Develop and maintain excellent carrier relationships. * Provide leadership to the team that promotes teamwork by sharing experiences, assisting others when help is needed and maintaining a positive and professional attitude. * Ability to work on additional projects that supports the overall development and advancement of the Employee Benefits team. * Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
