The Account Manager is a client facing position. This position reports to the Practice Leader. The Account Manager ensures that the MMA-NE Service and Operational standards are carried out in a consistent, meaningful, accountable and professional manner. This position interacts with clients, insurance markets, outside relationships, accounting, marketing, claims, loss control and management as part of servicing function. The Account Manager must maintain relationships with our clients. This position must interact professionally with MMA-NE producers and other MMA-NE CL staff while servicing accounts in a proactive nature.

Assist with the Management of Accounts interacts with management, claims, marketing and accounting departments as part of servicing function.


Responsible for carrying out the MMA-NE Service and Operational standards with the goal of exceeding our Retention Goals and preventing E&O exposures

  • Carry out ongoing client service functions, including, but not limited to:

  • Renewal Checklist Procedures

  • Binder Checklist Procedures

  • Carry out Service Calendar tasks

  • Insurance Binders, Binder Letters

  • Data entry into Sagitta

  • Draft client proposals, charts and presentations

  • Ensure coverage standards and identify coverage deficiencies

  • Track Stewardship Activities

  • Billing and Invoicing

  • Prepare ModMaster Calculations

  • Maintain Exposure Schedules

  • Review for accuracy completed applications

  • Transmission of information to clients and insurance companies

  • Secure subjectivities and binding documents from Client

  • Bind with carriers, obtaining binding confirmation and policy details

  • Troubleshoot on accounting issues

  • Preparing pre-renewal information

  • Directly responsible for Certificates of Insurance, Auto ID Cards, Endorsements, and coordination of these tasks with outsourcing resources

  • Fully utilize MMA-NE resources, MMC and MMA Benchmarking, Risk Mapping and other Data Analytics tools

  • Coordinating the serving of accounts with the Client Executive and Account Executive

  • Working as directed with outside vendor services

  • Other duties assigned

  • Staff Supervision

  • Provide guidance and training for the following personnel, in accordance with Company standards and direction:

  • Account Specialists


  • Must be well organized with excellent math, written and oral communication skills. Must possess strong technical skills.

  • High School Diploma or preferably, college degree

  • 5 years of experience in insurance business as a technician preferred

  • Must possess Property/Casualty Agent's/Broker's license

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Fosters and manages overall relationship with clients ensuring retention of large market book of business and high satisfaction; * Supports Producer in developing new business opportunities for existing clients and prospects; * Initiates renewal process for existing clients, and discusses and creates renewal strategy with Producer; * Analyzes and compares current exposures and develops renewal or new business specifications for marketing; * Conducts marketing, negotiates rates, reviews quotes and coverages for competitiveness and accuracy; * Independently reviews policy and determines appropriate coverage; identifies possible deficiencies; * Reviews and summarizes marketing results and prepares proposals; * Finalizes proposals and presentations in coordination with Producer; * Binds insurance coverage and prepares binders and/or delegate certificates issuance; * Reviews policies for accuracy and review contracts; * Prepares summaries and/or schedules of coverage for clients; * Reviews client accounting history, responds to accounting inquiries, corrects discrepancies, and contacts client on receivable collections; * Provides technical guidance to staff assisting with client needs or procedural issues; * Participates in the claims process as directed by management, including claim submission, follow-up and overall communication; * Notifies producer of pertinent information related to client retention; * Meets with clients as needed or directed by Producer; * Provides mentoring to staff to support immediate supervisor; * Engages in optimal and appropriate usage of applicable agency management systems; * Other duties as assigned.
