Position Overview

As an Account Manager supporting Foodservice, you will develop a consultative selling relationship with restaurant operators and manufacturers. You will grow business relationships, drive client satisfaction, and meet and/or exceed revenue goals by delivering insightful industry analyses to support clients in developing and executing against their strategic plans.

The position will be located in Rosemont, IL and downtown Chicago .

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build strategic relationships with client contacts to develop strategic business insights regarding the clients' most important business issues/needs, both short and long-term.

  • Expand the client base to include a broader mix of end users at accounts.

  • Deliver revenue growth for assigned clients within the Foodservice practice area

  • Demonstrate usage of consumer panel data to objectively partner with restaurant operators and manufacturers to help them grow their business and gain market share.

  • Provide recommendations to client leadership teams and product management teams, on matters such as promotional success, strategic brand management based on market research analysis.

  • Understand the dynamics of each client's organization and penetrate the account base to identify applications for NPD products and services.

  • Manage the contract negotiation process with clients in order to achieve/exceed revenue objectives.

  • Must also develop a strong comprehension of how the client and manufacturer/retailer relationships can be applied to assist customers in obtaining market share and growth profitability while also advancing NPD's reputation, positioning and growth.

  • Partner with cross-functional departments and teams to ensure success for the business.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 8+ years of experience delivering value to clients in account management or client service.

  • 5+ years of research experience, preferably with syndicated data.

  • Developed analytic capabilities, solid research and/or foodservice industry knowledge.

  • Proven consultative selling skills in presenting creative solutions that address client business needs.

  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and speaking skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Expert in all MS Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  • BA/BS or equivalent.

  • Up to 20% travel anticipated.
