B.S., M.S. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Life Sciences or other applicable / related field or equivalent combination of education and employment
2+ years of relevant customer facing experience with 1+ years sales experience
Familiarity with Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry industry and equipment required; solid market knowledge specific to this geography highly preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to effectively work in a team and collaborate with all levels of staff and clients

The account manager is responsible for driving Agilent Technologies' core Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry solutions into Life Science, Pharma, BioPharma, Applied Market, Academic and Clinical accounts. In this role, while exemplifying One Agilent teaming, you will be expected to develop and implement successful strategies and tactics to sell Agilent instrumentation solutions, which would additionally include molecular absorbance equipment. You will create and successfully execute on a territory development plan that will result in sales growth outpacing our competitors to increase our market share.
Achieve all sales targets around quota
Responsible for developing customer relationships and maintaining their satisfaction
Provide prompt response to all customer requests
Must be able to proactively drive the sales cycle and forecast sales accurately in a 30-60-90 day sales window
Work with Product Specialists to close sales opportunities
Conduct basic product demos and reviews with customers
Thoroughly qualify leads, identify correct solution and coordinate appropriate resources
Proactively and independently prospect for new customers and new opportunities
Work collaboratively with all our Agilent product and service representatives as a One Agilent team
Set sales strategy and business plan for territory
Provide rigor around CRM updates, expense reporting and other required business reporting.
Interprets customer needs and works to meet those needs; identifies potential business opportunities, able to handle complex leads independently
Works on sales assignments with broadly defined objectives
Solves non-routine issues, challenges and problems within field of specialization
