JOB OVERVIEW:

As a successful Account Manager, you will increase laboratory sales revenue through market penetration and promotion of Ambry's portfolio of genetic diagnostic testing services. You will advocate the clinical and financial benefits of our products to all levels and call points in the hospital, specialty clinic, and physician's office including MD's, nurses, genetic counselors, and laboratory staff. The successful Account Manager will need a level of sophistication to handle customer relationships with industry thought leaders, manage the dynamics between lab, doctor & genetic counselors, and be able to drive highly complex sales to closure.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a sales territory.

  • Live in major metropolitan area.

  • Manage and grow business in existing Ambry accounts.

  • Expand menu utilization in existing accounts.

  • Sell genetic diagnostic testing services to new customers.

  • Negotiate and manage contracts.

  • Introduce new testing products.

  • Develop demand for and adoption of new assays.

  • Develop and implement customer-specific action plans.

  • Develop and deliver presentations.

  • Host and assist with Trade shows.

  • Manage customer data in the company database.

  • Achieve sales goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years' experience selling laboratory services to clinicians and hospitals.

  • Bachelor's Science Degree Business, Marketing, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or Nursing.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.

  • Skilled using CRM applications such as Salesforce.com or Microsoft CRM Strong track record of sales success selling a broad portfolio of laboratory testing to different medical specialties.

  • Ability to sell technically complex products.

  • Expertise with demand creation in a large geography.

  • Experience with customer base within territory is a plus.

  • Strengths in networking and relationship development.

  • Strong oral and written communications skills.

  • Some formal sales training experience such as SPIN Selling or PSS.

  • Strong time and territory management skills.

  • Open to and enjoy travel, 50%+ in a multi-state territory.

Responsibilities * Promote & sell Impella® product line to established customers (physicians and Heart Teams including Interventional Cardiologists, Cardiac Surgeons, and Administrators). * Identify new customers (physicians and hospitals) and lead the efforts in activating new centers * Create account/territory business plans and build programs * Exceed sales for assigned territory * Initiate Impella® development activities focused on increasing awareness in the market * Lead clinical teams whose expertise help drive Impella® adoption in assigned territory Requirements * Bachelor's degree required, * A minimum of 5+ years' experience in cardiovascular medical device sales required * Proven track record of selling into a Cath Lab or surgical suite required * A proven track record in leading and motivating teams to successfully achieve quotas required * Strong knowledge of interventional cardiology required * Experience selling within assigned geography preferred * Established relationships/network of Interventional Cardiologists and Cath Lab staff in the Chicago North territory * Proven track record of technology adoption and market development * Direct patient support experience required * Availability for emergent patient care required * Ability to drive patient outcomes required * Ability to travel up to 50% overnight * Conduct duties and responsibilities in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry required ABIOMED is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
