The Account Manager is responsible for leading the business development effort for FIT leisure travel, group travel, meetings & incentives for Aspen Snowmass in designated Latin American countries. Written and verbal fluency in Spanish will be required to effectively communicate in this position. Key focus is developing, training and serving contracted tour operators and executing business development activities with emerging travel agencies and within emerging markets. Regular reporting is critical to success, measuring both efforts and results against goals.

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead strategic planning, execution, logistical trainings and sales missions

  • Travel to key industry events

  • Steer marketing plan for advertising and PR

  • Organize, host and participate in fam trips

  • Make prospecting calls to generate leads and diligently follow up on new contacts made from all sales efforts

  • Problem solve and serve accounts as a priority

  • Distribute leads and opportunities to the lodging community as appropriate and have regular contact to ensure active leads are being closed

  • Ensure follow up to client is accurate and timely and stay involved as necessary

  • Develop strong relationships with community sellers and meet with them regularly to ensure desired leads are being closed and the ASC is given every opportunity to upsell

  • Manage database and accounts in SalesForce and follow up appropriately

  • Assist in the coordination of events/promotions, client relations, execution of sales tactics and participate in marketing design work

  • Create strategic plan and marketing/PR plan for target markets

  • Lead sales missions to key events and locations in market

  • Fully train all agents within market, both in-person and virtually

  • Develop TA accounts to grow business

  • Weekly, daily and monthly reporting

  • Management of invoicing and certain expense budget items

  • Respond to customer and client needs and requests for information

  • Coordinate client and staff needs with other ASC departments

  • Set and support production timelines of travel trade marketing materials

  • Weekends, evenings and travel required

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of related experience required

  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish required

  • Experience in creating marketing and sales collateral to drive business required

  • College degree preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Oversee the event setup and coordinate with vendors for rental equipment deliveries * Coordinate details and confer with vendors, supervisors, peers and staff before, during and after an event * Serve as main contact for group and event planners and monitor event activities to ensure smooth operations and satisfaction of clients * Ensure quality standards in service and presentation are maintained * Supervise the adequate care and use of product and equipment * Produce, review and distribute Banquet Event Orders with all relevant staff and Accounting for billing purposes * Manage the business aspects; enforcing liquor laws and proper sanitation standards, taking inventory each event, obtaining cash banks and ensuring security of product and cash * Perform accurate and timely paperwork: scheduling and payroll; HR paperwork throughout employee life cycle; ensure all employee certifications are up to date * Responsible for monthly inventory of food, beverage, and all banquet items to ensure adequate supply levels * Conduct post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved * Directly supervises Banquet staff; training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; assist with interviewing and hiring; ensuring all company standards of performance and appearance are met * Ensure each event is staffed appropriately and maintain a list of current on call employees * Responsible for emergency procedures at event site * Other duties as assigned Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: * Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service ; Responds to requests for service and assistance. * Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions. * Team Work - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests; Able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; Supports everyone's efforts to succeed; Recognizes accomplishments of other team members. * Managing People - Takes responsibility for subordinates' activities; Makes self available to staff; Provides regular performance feedback; Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth; Solicits and applies customer feedback (internal and external). * Professionalism - Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions.
