Description

Do you have experience selling technical instrumentation in the Life Science Industry?

We are looking for a Field Sales Representative for our Beckman Coulter Life Science Particle Counting and Characterization business. This person will actively promote instruments that use techniques such as the Coulter Principle, laser diffraction, light scattering and polarized intensity differential scattering (PIDS) to help customers get the data they need. You will handle strategic sales targeting includes all Industrial, Academic, Pharmaceutical, Government, Pharmaceutical and Biotech accounts.

Location: Position can be based remotely in the territory which includes: Ohio, Michigan, or Western Pennsylvania areas.

How will you be successful?

  • You will implement a sales plan designed to achieve established sales and financial goals; maintain up-to-date CRM; call on prospective and current company customers; involve technical personnel to resolve customer's issues and problems as needed

  • Annually submit and implement a detailed sales plan identifying: sales objectives, sales opportunities, major customers, ideas to grow market share, etc.

  • Perform all sales activity within an assigned geographic territory.

  • Participate in sales activities including: customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations, customer seminars and channel management.

  • Coordinate distributor training activities to achieve corporate objectives.

  • Utilize CRM to capture customer activity and maintain accurate and plentiful Sales Funnel

  • Submit monthly and quarterly forecast

  • Assist in maintaining a mail list for customers in the assigned territory.

  • Collects and reports information on all competitive activity within the assigned territory.

  • Network across Beckman and Danaher sales groups

  • Provide key field input in corporate programs including market research, Kaizen events and equipment beta testing.

  • Monitor and report upon market trends, regulatory drivers and competitive threats

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in field with 2+ years' experience OR Master's degree in field with 1+ years' experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Demonstrated track record of success ideally in a Life Sciences or Chemical sales area

  • Highly motivated, will drive results to achieve quota and success driven

  • Solid understanding of tactical sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers) strongly preferred

  • Laboratory experience is desired

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent time and territory management habits.

  • Experience with personal computer, e-mail, and Microsoft Office programs

Environment:

  • The work environment for this position is both office and field sales activity.

  • Extensive driving throughout the territory is expected, as well as air travel

  • The field sales activity will take this individual into customers' locations and physical activity (e.g. lifting/carrying/moving of materials and equipment 50-70 lbs.) occurs.
