Univision Communications is the premier Spanish language media company in the United States. The Bay Area sales team is currently seeking a highly motivated salesperson (Account Executive) with excellent interpersonal skills to sell Spanish Language Media (TV, Radio, & Digital). The AE is responsible for developing new business through prospecting, cold calling, the use of co-op, and vendor development. Duties include servicing new accounts and clients, maintaining proper payment schedules, and working with Production and Traffic departments to process sales orders. The AE also provides competitive market reports in weekly sales meetings; forecasts sales revenue activity analyzes Nielsen TV/Audio rating books and qualitative research for the purpose of a client presentation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop new client base as well as sell and service existing accounts

  • Use rating knowledge and qualitative research data to create marketing presentations that sell value to our customers and positions our stations against competition

  • Write presentations, edit existing presentations, and a general understanding of research specific to the industry; new business development via prospecting throughout the Bay Area

  • Use of a consultative sales approach to build relationships and grow business for our clients and our stations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience in lieu of degree will be considered

  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years outside or retail sales experience, broadcast media sales

  • Highly motivated, creative, and proactive required for success

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish is desired. Must have the ability to work well under pressure in a revenue goal and deadline-driven environment

  • Applicants must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Knowledge of broadcast applications such as Wide Orbit Sales System, OSI, DDS, Kantar, Scarborough, Matrix Sales Center preferred

  • Must be able to drive and have a valid California driver's license with a good driving record

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record with an emphasis on New Business Development and prospecting highly desired.

  • Knowledge of advertising agencies and Nielsen ratings, research, and negotiating skills desired.

  • Must be willing to work from the office in San Jose, California

  • Employment/education will be verified

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach, and sit for up to eight (8) hours.

Account Executive Basic Job Function ~This is a sales position that exists to acquire and grow revenue in new sources through sales of ThreatMetrix products and solutions in an assigned territory or industry specific vertical. It is anticipated that you will insure and grow this revenue stream via expert strategic deployment of resources and spearhead the penetration of LexisNexis Risk Management solutions through the enterprise within your assigned territory or industry vertical. Accountabilities:Meet or exceed monthly and annual revenue objectives. Develop and implement plans which identify sales strategies, assess revenue potential, and outline targeted activities to maximize revenue opportunities and penetrate market with ThreatMetrix products and solutions. Create and implement effective account/territory plans that include; developing and implementing a sales strategy considering new business growth, managing all resources necessary to drive new business; forecasting revenue; developing key contacts and business relationships within a new account including influential individual and high level decision makers. Cold call to secure appointments, gather information on customer needs, position and demonstrate ThreatMetrix product as solutions to customer's business issues, manage customer objections, negotiate pricing and contracts and close the sale. Develop research analysis techniques to determine customer prospects that ThreatMetrix products and solutions can meet prospective customer business needs. Contact these prospects and determine the business needs, decision makers to penetrate new business relationships. Develop strategic sales plan using business analysis tools to identify and track revenue trends, recognize sales opportunities, target specific sales activities, and analyze competitive threats. Understand the value of ThreatMetrix products and pricing as well as competitive offerings and articulate ThreatMetrix benefits in a manner meaningful to a customer. Manage customers, clients and prospective clients with clear communication and needs analysis. Clearly demonstrate your understanding of ThreatMetrix pricing, administrative procedures, and organization to effectively answer clients questions or implement solutions in a timely fashion. Maintain a current understanding of ThreatMetrix's competitor offerings (i.e., price, product, service, or solution) so that you can effectively sell the advantages of ThreatMetrix over that offered by its competitors. Formulate a professional development plan with your manager with respect to internal/external educational programs so that you knowledge can be leveraged with your assigned territory.
