The Sun Solutions Accounts Account Executive is responsible for business development, client retention and the profitable management of a portfolio of group clients in the Edmonton sales office. Responsible for new sales, promotional activity and relationship management with advisors and consultants based in the Prairies Region is required. There are annual growth, retention, execution and profitability targets for this role.
Main Sun Life contact for clients and the Advisors assigned to those clients, responsible for the overall client relationship with Sun Life
Responsible for the growth and profitability of an assigned block of business
Ensure client/advisor needs are met through the delivery of value-added products and services
Extensive experience (3 or more years) in group insurance (sales, underwriting or consulting)
Minimum of 3 years proven client relationship success in the group market
Ability to build and sustain relationships with clients and consultants
Strong group insurance financial management capability relating to the various funding arrangements and drivers of profitability
Experience working with clients within the client organization as well as with plan advisors
Knowledge of group benefit plan design including flexible benefit plans, underwriting and financial management, technology and Internet applications, benefit and plan taxation, communications and administration procedures, claims practices, government legislation and current developments in the benefits field
Integrity, customer focus, strong leadership and the ability to work successfully in a team environment
Strong negotiation and analytical skills
Self-starter and results oriented
Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
Adept at project management and handling of multiple priorities
Possesses a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
Professional designation such as CEBS
Small amount of travel may be required with occasional overnight travel
