Summary of Role:
Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and will be highly organized. This is a great opportunity for someone who is eager to learn and contribute in a dynamic environment. This position will be responsible as the main point of contact for assigned client group accounts to ensure all aspects of agency service is provided at the highest level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works closely with Agent to develop and execute client's strategic objectives in all matters related to health & welfare benefits.
Acts as a dedicated resource for clients to help them resolve any plan administration/benefits issues, including but not limited to: employee communication resources, invoicing, eligibility, and any overall plan details.
Ensures renewal cycle and established timelines are met throughout the year including, quarterly meetings and data review (when necessary); Works with internal and external wellness resources to provide experience data and recommendations (when available).
Works closely with insurance carrier representatives to stay on top of emerging trends and updates on product offerings.
Oversees the group annual renewal process per established timelines (in partnership with Agent and pulling in Account Manager for assistance with tasks), including:
negotiating, generating, analyzing, and presenting proposals
making recommendations on plan and contribution strategy
handling any plan/eligibility/carrier changes (including required paperwork)
facilitating enrollment materials and/or online enrollment system updates
providing compliance notices and plan documents to clients
ensure proper processing of open enrollment elections/changes
Handles set-up and maintenance of online enrollment systems, as needed
Assists internal Advocate with complex, time-sensitive and/or escalated service/claims issues
With assistance from respective Account Manager, responsible for documentation of internal files and databases with all client data and communication in Salesforce.
Ensures client compliance with health & welfare benefits, notices, including ACA and ERISA per established compliance directives.
COMPETENCIES
Proficiency in processing large amounts of information on an ongoing basis
Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills
Strong aptitude for organization and prioritization
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility in duties and responsibilities
Effective verbal and written communication
Ability to work on projects with a team or on an individual basis
Proficiency in PC, Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn software/technology quickly
Must be able to work in Charleston, SC
Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a computer screen with few breaks
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years' of experience in Health & Welfare Administration or related field
Bachelor's Degree
Active Life and Health License (or ability to obtain)
