To be fully engaged in providing No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by representing Health First services to licensed physicians, practitioners and patient referral sources. To retain existing service line business and grow additional net volume in accordance with system goals set forth, while building strong, ethical business relationships.

Primary Accountabilities

Provide safe work atmosphere for self while traveling between calls.

Ensure safety and confidentiality of PHI information

Ensure safety and confidentiality of HFMG physicians' business tactics.

Follow targeting plan to develop alliance with assigned physicians.

Monitor and report on competitive activities throughout medical community,

Monitor and report physician service expectations and obstacles.

Participate in quarterly tactical sales meetings to establish future growth strategy.

Report daily call activity in Salesforce.

Achieve minimum call standards (8 calls/day) and assist with evening meetings as required.

Represent Health First in professional, ethical manner at all times

Responsible for building community relationships and representing Health First at both corporate and community events and sponsorships that will support health services growth.

Assist with the education and training of external and internal constituents on approved service line topics

Maintain monthly budget and follow compliance guidelines of spending policy.

Accountable to deliver budgeted sales and retention each year, in accordance with corporate objectives.

Achieve growth goal with assigned service line.

  • Four year college degree

  • Minimum 2 years medical experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Valid Florida driver's license

  • 2 years sales experience preferred; medical sales preferred.

This position also performs coding reviews such as post-operative reviews, adjustments to claims based on corrections with modifiers, op reports, etc. In addition, identify possible savings both actual and averted by pre and post claims reviews utilizing clinical knowledge by reviewing for medical necessity, high dollar review and other areas of expertise. Negotiate with out of network facilities for cost savings. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Quality/No Harm: Continuously improve the abilities of the position and the team by participating in CMS training calls, on-line tutorials and other learning opportunities Confer with Manger of claims to prepare written documentation for claims processing Responsible for assisting in AA configuration changes to assist with reporting and business decision support. Assist in the improvement process of the claims processing DLTs Conducts thorough case reviews to validate medical necessity of admissions based on documentation and in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Navigate claims systems and imaging software simultaneously to review both pre-payment and post-payment claims Review all billing to determine if a treatment is covered by the patient's coverage plan and if that treatment was medically necessary Review and make determinations on cases on appeal or denials due to medical necessity of services and/or reasonableness and necessity of services Conducts thorough research and analysis for medical policy items Reviews and identifies changes to medical policies in order to maintain an accurate and current medical policy library Responsible for translating industry references into policy Analyzes research inquiries from a multitude of sources and applies solid clinical judgment to determine potential impact to medical policies Performs QA of policy reviews, logic revisions, and research requests performed by others to ensure accuracy. In addition to QA, provides feedback to originator as needed. Manages interactions with our expert panel (consultant pool) on relevant clinical issues Ensures work is accurate, complete and finished in a timely manner including documentation of notable changes. Maintains current knowledgebase of industry and CMS content, best practices, applications, procedures and policies Customer Experience: Identify opportunities to prevent future challenges. Provide feedback and education to other departments to assist in future savings. Educates client-facing MDs and Client Policy Managers (CPMs) on new changes and policy updates by actively participating in monthly meetings. Stewardship: High-dollar Organ Transplant Bill Review and Audit High-dollar Liver-Kidney Transplant Bill Review and Audit High-dollar Intestinal Transplant Bill Review and Audit High-dollar Premature Birth Bill Review and Audit High-dollar Neonatal Bill Review and Audit High-dollar Pharmaceutical Bill Review and Audit High-dollar Caner Bill Review and Audit Performs multi-faceted analytics for data and report analysis Identifies new opportunities as appropriate from both clinical reference and analytical sources Ability to determine if an update to existing policy logic or content is warranted based on changes to industry or CMS reference data QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Previous experience as a Medicare Part A and/or Part B Medical Review Active RN license in resident state and hold a compact license or a minimum of 10 years as a certified coder w/ auditing experience. Must have working knowledge of HCPCS, CPT and ICD-9 and/or ICD-10 codes, as well as CMS guidelines, MCS and FISS.
