Position Title: Account Executive, Government

This is a unique opportunity for a Account Executive, Government to be part of a cutting-edge, dynamic organization created specifically to meet the growing challenges faced by legal professionals working at the most prominent government agencies in the world. This position covers new and/or existing accounts in assigned geography or territory and prospects new customers or new business at existing customers and closes sales.

  • Conduct weekly customer strategy calls with key inside and field partners.

  • Effectively demonstrate key products and integrated solutions within 6 months of hire; for new products, effectively position and demonstrate within 45 days of launch.

  • Utilize Power Messaging to conduct effective sales presentations; engage in two-way dialogue to effectively tie value proposition back to customer needs.

  • Demonstrate superior territory management skills by effectively prioritizing selling activities and maximizing selling time in front of customers.


  • Selling skills - ability to navigate a complex software solutions sale.

  • Sales stage proficiency ability to fully understand and demonstrate value of each of the stages in the sales cycle.

  • Communication skills - ability to effectively communicate with key government contacts at various levels.

  • Discovery and presentation skills - ability to effectively express software/solutions concepts and demonstrate legal research solutions.

  • Computer skills - the ability to effectively utilize various automation tools, such as and internal order-to-cash systems.

  • Business and technical acumen - the ability to solve customer and internal company issues, while staying abreast of relevant technology applications and trends.

  • Candidate must reside in sales territory.

  • Minimum of 4-5 years direct field sales experience (sales experience in the government markets preferred) with exemplary track record of sales quota over achievement.

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience, JD a plus.

  • Able to work from home office and travel to customer locations 70% of the time with up to 40% overnight travel.

Responsibilities: * Exceed sales, revenue, profitability and client satisfaction targets as assigned. * Develop and maintain a business plan across your portfolio accounts with individual account plans that achieve the assigned targets. * Build and maintain a healthy, qualified pipeline of new opportunities that lead to sales and revenues by working/networking across municipal leaders and attending/participating in local meetings & events. * Nurture and develop new opportunities that are innovative and strategic to growing SAFEbuilt. * Ensure high client satisfaction and mitigate revenue & client losses by engaging client leaders, leading issue resolution and providing performance reviews and reports. * Establish yourself and SAFEbuilt a trusted adviser on the industry and community development services thought leader bringing unique, value-added insights to your clients that help them meet their objectives. * Be local and network – meet and communicate frequently with leaders in your municipal clients. * Work closely with the operations teams and SAFEbuilt leaders to grow revenue in existing accounts, develop winning solutions, serve clients better and meet our overall financial objectives. * Execute successful account management and sales strategies, techniques and best practices to optimize our growth, win-rates, profitability and client satisfaction. * Create and present market and competitively differentiated solutions that SAFEbuilt can profitably deliver and support by working closely with operations and all departments. * Prepare and respond to all target account requests for proposals, company information, and presentations on the company's capabilities in a manner that distinguishes SAFEbuilt from competition. * Provide feedback to management to improve the success of sales, solutions, pricing and go to market. * Maintain sales and client databases and provide reporting and forecasting as required. * Perform other duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS: * Positive, high-energy, business development mentality * 10+ years of professional, account management/consultative sales experience with complex business to government or business to business services with a track-record of consistent success. * Portfolio management experience across many accounts to grow revenue and profitability. * Deep experience in developing and growing business in complex, procurement-centric, relationship-based sales that can have long sales cycles and be well-rounded in all aspects of sales and account management. * Solid understanding of jurisdictional environments including the decision-making and procurement process, political dynamics, municipal structure, and building department operations. * Operational know-how of construction, building / community development service delivery (e.g., planning & zoning, engineering, plan review, inspections, code enforcement for residential and commercial). * Strong team player able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and build trust. * Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing for effective presentations and proposals * Characterized as highly resourceful, innovative, proactive with highest integrity * 50%+ travel required – primarily within region; primarily work from home office * Proficient personal computer skills, including MS Office, SalesForce * Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in business, operations, public admin, construction, economics * Location is flexible, near major airport COMPENSATION: Competitive salary, excellent commission and bonus plan.
