Summary
The Account Executive (field sales representative) is responsible for promoting and selling the companys products and services through direct customer contact. The Account Executive will execute a sales plan to develop a portfolio of customers through cold calling and in person meetings with prospective customers. This individual will develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image of Touchstone. This individual will develop leads provided by the marketing of the business, as well as prospect their own leads.As an Account Executive you will be expected to schedule meetings with clients within your planned portfolio of customers. You will be expected to self manage your time conducting most of your work outside of a business office managing your sales productivity with the provided tools to effectively track your selling activities, and manage your customer contact information. You will meet with current and prospect customers collecting information about the client, delivering sales presentations, problem solving, and providing strategic product recommendations that meet their marketing plans and strategies.To be an effective sales representative, you will need to demonstrate commanding knowledge of your target customers, existing competitors in the marketplace and industry trends that may impact a customers buying decision. In addition, you will maintain a regular calling or contact schedule with companies to identify more leads or resolve any problems that arise in existing client accounts.To perform well as an Account Executive, you must demonstrate the following.

  • Ability to identify and contact decision makers through research, cold calls, in person meetings, and networking with existing clients or other professionals in the industry you target that align with your sales process.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to create business relationships.
  • Must have strong presentation and negotiation skills to build a compelling case for Touchstones products and services.
  • Must have a deep knowledge of the promotional products industry, including but not limited to: Apparel; Apparel Decoration Techniques; Apparel Providers; Apparel Decorators; Promotional Products; Promotional Product Decoration Techniques; Promotional Product Suppliers... all with the proven ability to provide branded merchandise solutions for your prospects and clients.
  • This position will require you to be a self-starter, often working independently to make the most of your leads and professional network.
  • You should possess basic software aptitude to maintain account information, develop proposals or presentations, and manage sales productivity through Touchstones CRM.
  • A proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales budgets and goals is a must.

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years direct experience in an outside sales role, building a territory or portfolio of customers in the promotional products industry.
  • Proven experience sales planning, cold calling, opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, account development, and time management.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close opportunities.
  • Experience following a regimented sales process and utilizing general sales tools.
  • Success in meeting sales quotas and goals.
  • Experience saturating customers with multiple decision makers or buyers.
  • Strong problem identification and objection response/resolution skills.


Education

  • 4 year degree preferred.

  • Touchstone is expanding throughout the country, but currently focused on the following markets; Columbus, OH, Cincinnati, OH, Cleveland, OH, Michigan, Louisville, KY, Lexington, KY, Nashville, TN, St. Louis, MO, Pittsburgh, PA, Ft. Wayne, IN, or Indianapolis, IN.

GENERAL FUNCTION The Account Executive analyzes and consults with Fortune 1000 companies on their benefit programs with the target on vision benefits. Sells vision benefits plans to employers and engages employers, brokers, and consultants in assigned territory. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Identifies revenue growth opportunities and executes plan to increase profitability. * Collaborates with sales to acquire new business. * Builds strong relationships deep in the client Org from C-Suite to daily contacts. * Consults with clients benefit team to achieve goals of both organizations. * Develops and executes annual strategic client retention strategy. * Influences key internal partners to deliver client focused expectations while managing internal priorities * Identifies client influencers and develops strong partnerships to retain business. * Creates loyal client advocates that refer business. * Mentors/Coaches colleagues. * Serves as a thought leader and vision care expert internally and externally to develop innovative products/successes. * Confidently presents/negotiates with C-suite internally and externally.
