The Account Executive is a full-time outside business-to-business sales professional who is responsible for gaining new market share in a given territory and for retaining and growing current accounts.


  • Articulate and position Martin Whalen products, services and solutions to key decision makers

  • Aggressively pursue competitive accounts and differentiate Martin Whalen from competitors

  • Manage the entire sales cycle across customer accounts, engaging specialists as needed

  • Propose and close sales that achieve total revenue growth, profit and customer satisfaction plans

  • Keep abreast of changes in technology and understanding of basic user abilities

  • Prepare daily/weekly action plans by individuals as well as by team to insure focused activity

  • Sustain sales activities; appointments, demos, proposals, cold calls, dials and database updates

  • Meet or exceed revenue and gross profit expectations

  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Excellent communication (oral and written and presentation skills)

  • Personal drive and internal motivation toward high achievement

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment

  • Ability to influence, negotiate and gain commitment at all organizational levels

  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability; willingness to take risks and try new approaches


  • BS/BA degree in business or other related field preferred

  • Previous business-to-business sales experience or internship preferred

  • Valid driver's license and minimum levels of auto insurance coverage

We are looking for this individual to manage business relationships with customers above $200mm in revenue. The #1 goal is to leverage the tools, resources and support structure provided to meet and exceed a revenue sales quota. This position provides an opportunity to sell leading edge solutions for one of the premier organizations in the IT industry. Preference is for candidates with cloud solution sales experience. The Senior Account Executive will also prospect for business with new customers, and design sales strategies around acquiring new logos. About You: * You are a sales professional that has a strong work ethic, high aptitude for learning and who is seeking a position for growth and expansion of responsibility. * Self-starter with a reputation for being an effective change agent. * You must have the proven ability to listen, extrapolate information, and leverage resources to effectively provide solutions to customer. * You are a hardworking, competitive type that is driven to succeed. Provide a fresh viewpoint to prospective and existing clients, grounded in Sungard AS thought-leadership. * Manage the ongoing need to understand inter-related technologies that exist in the environment we sell and keep current on new technology and opportunities as the business and technologies expand. Requirements: * Minimum of 8-10 years of successful sales experience selling enterprise IT services and offerings within a diverse account base. * Exceptional ability to motivate and influence key contacts and decision makers. * Proven ability to listen, extrapolate information and leverage resources to effectively provide solutions to customer. * Ability to maintain and expand existing account relationships. * Excellent ability to communicate at all levels within an organization. * Ability to effectively learn technical products, services and solutions and readily apply new knowledge. Preferred Qualities: * College Degree preferred but will consider applicants with equivalent work-related experience with a minimum educational requirement of a H.S.
