Purpose of the Role: Through effective relationships, the Account Executive is accountable for providing educational content solutions that meet the needs of school districts in an assigned territory.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs strategies that address customer needs and issues while meeting assigned quota; targets and prioritizes accounts and activities; analyzes competitors' activities and adjusts appropriately; utilizes area, national and Per Diem resources effectively.

  • Strategically plans sales calls by outlined objectives and action steps.

  • Reads the market, recognizes trends, and communicates that information to the Area Management; Demonstrates knowledge of account history, the processes and procedures specific to each district, and the key issues for each account.

  • Responds to customers' requests and problems with appropriate timeliness and concern; Develops professional credibility and trust with the customer;

  • Provides timely and complete information needed for consultants and outside resources to perform effectively in the territory; Uses voicemail and email appropriately; Updates Salesforce.com regularly.

  • Knowledge of each curriculum area to converse comfortably with customers and understand their needs; effectively communicates the major features, advantages, and benefits of each product; Displays a thorough knowledge of state and local adoption timelines in order to be at the right place at the right time.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Marketing or Liberal Arts or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years sales experience with a proven track record in meeting quota.

Preferred:

  • Educational/Technology sales experience and teaching skills are preferred

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in MS Office and Sales Management Software

  • Must have an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods of time, 4+ hours.

  • Must be able to stand and present to audiences for 2+ hours.

  • Frequently lifting, reaching, and moving product up to 60 lbs.

  • Must be able to travel up to 60-70% of the time through a combination of domestic air travel and driving a car.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings

Job Summary: The person hired for the position of Global Wind Energy Key Account Manager for the Fall Protection Business within the Personal Safety Division, will serve as a business manager for the assigned global key accounts; GE, Vestas, SIEMENS/Gamesa, and others as assigned. The Wind Energy BDM will lead the development and execution of key account strategies; managing and delivering key account sales and growth targets; building, maintaining and strengthening worldwide customer relationships; and maintaining/gaining end-user specification for the Fall Protection product range. This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government, or military environments to a 3M career. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Develops and executes key account strategic and operating plans. * Identifies key contacts within the respective key accounts, and develops and maintains such relationships. * Established and manages a relationship plan at all levels of the key account and Fall Protection business/PSD, and across key functions. * Leads and works with cross functional team to create values & provide solutions to support key account growth and to meet/exceed sales targets. * Works to gain specification / product technical acceptance at all required levels and all end-customer operating regions to include headquarters. * Manages Key Account P/L to annual operating targets. * Understands key accounts' operating model, decision making process, organizational structure, and site footprint. * Drives customer intimacy as measured against customer Key Performance Indicators. * Leads and participates in customer management of change and NPI projects. * Develops monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts and communicates these to the Fall Protection organization. * Negotiates and manages global contracts & pricing; maintains global price consistency. * Provides market/ industry updates and voice of customer to the Fall Protection BU. * Leads effective communication internally and externally to expeditiously address issues and delight the customer. Basic Qualifications * Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution. * Minimum of five (5) years of key account management or relevant sales experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
