We are expanding our Global Advertising Partnerships team to further advance our headquarter-level relationships with our most important advertisers. The Accounts Director, Global Advertising Partnerships will be a key member of the NBCU Ad Sales organization, and their strategic and consultative international sales expertise is considered critical to unlocking greater value and impact for our advertisers. This role develops key relationships and builds value with clients and agencies at scale.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Account Director for the Global Advertising Partnerships team, you are passionate about playing an instrumental role with our largest and most complex accounts to deliver insight-driven brand strategies by understanding and navigating across the range of NBCUniversal and Sky products available to our advertisers.

You build strong relationships and participate in upfront planning, educating advertisers on our product portfolio and diving deep into NBCU/Sky's proprietary metrics to derive insights. You link all facets of an advertiser's business to provide clear guidance and direction using experimentation, quarterly or mid-year business reviews and frequent in-person advertiser sessions to iterate and articulate a brand's story. You are responsible for identifying opportunities to drive incremental revenue and to drive innovation and roadmap decisions on behalf of the advertiser.

This is a client-facing role that is also responsible for being an expert for C-level marketing leaders, delivering consultative solutions, providing clear direction and guidance, and earning their trust by educating them and anticipating their needs on how to be successful with NBCU/Sky.

  • Drive a global consultative selling strategy for NBCU/Sky's portfolio of assets

  • Become an expert on NBCU/Sky, enabling upfront agreements, and align with other internal teams to best serve our advertiser needs

  • Account Planning: Develop and actively manage short and long-term account plans based on client brand and performance marketing objectives

  • Apply emerging consumer data and analytics to create innovative media solutions with NBCU/Sky's content and platforms

  • Leverage your mastery of media and communications to develop winning brand and media strategies for growth

  • Consult and coach global clients with insights to achieve greater results on NBCU/Sky

  • Recommend solutions and influence decisions that drive growth and generate a positive return on investment

  • Excellent project management skills to impact process improvements

  • Work cross-functionally, activating key business units within NBCU and Sky to ensure pipeline creation, revenue goal achievement and end customer success


  • Broad knowledge of global media landscape and competitive set

  • Proven list of key client and agency relationships

  • Well-connected within Global Agency holding companies

  • Deep understanding of strategic approach to global media plan development

  • Experience on variety of categories and accounts

  • Proven track record of successfully reaching and exceeding sales revenue goals through consultative sell

Eligibility Requirements

  • 7+ years experience in client-facing, account management roles, focused on Global relationships with Fortune 100 brands across industries.

  • 3+ years' experience as a proven strategic advisor working with C-Level clients strong track record of high-level negotiation and successful internal and external relationship management

  • Strong network of contacts, and excellent communication skills confidence to build relationships at all levels

  • Annual brand planning and media planning capabilities

  • Strong analytical and Excel skills are essential, as well as curiosity, persistence, and the ability to solve problems in a structured manner

  • Experience with influencing internal and external stakeholders

The Global Account Director will report directly to the SVP of Sales. What You'll Do: The Global Account Director will play a key role in the development, implementation and execution of an Account Management strategy that's aligned with Convene's unique business objectives. S/He will partner with key Global Strategic Accounts to demonstrate Convene's value and maximize revenue yield through engagement across the Convene platform. S/He will drive business opportunities to the WorkPlace and Meetings Product sales team in existing markets along with generating demand in new markets. * Manage and grow Convene's top producing global accounts, which by definition will, or have the potential to, produce $500,000 in annual Convene revenue and utilize Convene in three or more markets, * Curiously research new, target and established owned accounts, strategically cultivating meaningful client relationships throughout the accounts' organizations, with a focus on Meetings, Real Estate, and others who can influence and buy Convene products * Establish, implement and execute Global Account Sales Strategies for all Convene Products to drive portfolio opportunities. * Negotiate and execute Platform Partnership Agreements that support the Convene's revenue strategy and growth of the Meetings and WorkPlace portfolio. * Work closely with stakeholders across Convene departments including sales, revenue, marketing, and others to create scalable solutions for pricing across the portfolio for top accounts. * Own and execute property familiarization tours, pitches/presentations and dissemination of key account intel to support enterprise sales strategy. * When applicable, partner with Travel Management Companies (TMCs), Strategic Meetings Management firms to drive brand awareness with key business influencers. * Work internally with Convene Real Estate Development, Product & Innovations teams as necessary to share account specific insight, revenue potential and other metrics within new/target markets; What We Look For * Bachelor's Degree (or higher) and 8+ years of experience in Sales with a minimum of 4+ years in a regional selling role and/or a complex or multi-unit sales environment * A strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail; the ability to understand the overall business and strategy, and drive execution of strategy into tactical action. * A proven ability to create strong and productive relationships at senior buyer levels within an organization. * Strong history of collaborative, consultative selling success * Demonstrated hands-on proficiency and/or Delphi.fdc * Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate team members, especially those that don't report to you. * High degree of personal drive and able to pursue own intuition and vision * Exceptional track record of leadership with a willingness to be a player more often than a coach * Responsive to demands from multiple internal and external stakeholder groups * Must be challenging and diplomatic; able to influence those outside own reporting structure * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to prioritize and manage various projects based on the current business requirements and landscape. * Ability to flourish in an extremely fast-paced, high-growth, environment * Ability to travel domestically and potentially internationally up to 5-12 days a month Who We Are: Convene designs and services premium places to work, meet, and host inspiring events.
