Position Title: ACCESS Career Exploration Coordinator Contract Length:

July 1- June 30 Immediate Supervisor: ACCESS Project Director or CTE Director POSITION SUMMARY ACCESS (Alignment of Career-Connected Education Supports Students) Career Exploration Coordinator will oversee the expansion and implementation of a multi-partner Career Advising Network (CAN) initiative that includes a multi-grade level career and college advising strategy, implementation of the Preparing for College and Careers middle school course and planning, implementation of diverse summer, weekend and after school career exploration camps. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors in Education or related field required Master of Education or School Counseling certification preferred 10+ years in middle /high school guidance counseling preferred Experience collaborating with workforce development/industry/postsecondary partners RESPONSIBILITIES Create and facilitate career exploration activities for students and families, such ascareer-connected presentations, guest speakers, career exploration field trips and annual Career Awareness Days in K-8 buildings Administer assessments to measure student career interest, including the use of the

SchooLinks or similar career navigation system tool Collaborate with district-wide School Counseling or Curriculum staff to provide careerreadiness resources and services for K-12 students Oversee the development and implementation of the secondary and postsecondary collaborative Career Advising Network (CAN) consisting of a combination ofcareer-connected career advising professionals including school counselors, careercoaches, college admissions counselors, community-based coaches/mentors,out-of-school program facilitators, and industry-embedded human resources professionals Coordinate and implement diverse summer, weekend and out-of-school career exploration camps or clubs Align career exploration programming with district Career and Technical Education (CTE), STEM Magnet, and Early College programs as frameworked with Graduation Pathways and Next Level Programs of Study Facilitates student interviews and career interest assessments to inform academic and career scheduling and individualized career pathway navigation and planning Provide instructional support to counselors for career center related collaboration, information, and career-connected workshops Collaborate with GEAR UP South Bend! staff to plan district career readiness, extended learning events and ensure academic and career-related coordination with GUSB! cohorts Implementation of the Preparing for College and Careers (PCC) middle school CTE course and planning, including the oversight of a collaborative PCC Professional Learning Community (PLC) Support the coordination of college and career exploration supporting bridge programs to facilitate successful transitions to high school and higher education with alignment to progressively rigorous academic opportunities, dual credit programs and CTE career pathways Ensure intentional access and opportunities are embedded in career exploration programsthat support special populations, economically disadvantaged, or students with barriers to career exploration Duties and responsibilities as otherwise assigned by ACCESS or CTE leadership PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
