Our A2L program is an early career leadership development program that targets recent college graduates, offering career tracks that provide accelerated development, training, and on-the-job learning nationally across our 10 lines of business. Selected candidates will be placed into real leadership roles with Aramark while receiving structured program activities and developmental experiences tailored to their career track, such as financial ownership and people management.

Food and Hospitality Management Career Track: As an A2L participant within this career track, you will start your career in a management role such as food service, concessions, catering, retail, hospitality, and more. In this career track, you will be focused on bringing customer food experiences to life with the ability to respond effectively to changing client demands. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising unit personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality and cost control, labor scheduling, staffing, employee training and ensuring exceptional customer experiences. You will also perform other functions as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee activities in Catering Premium Services departments, as well as all areas of the building and ensure overall client satisfaction and adherence to business goals.

  • Special attention to food trends, exceptional service delivery and guest relations critical factors in this position's success.

  • Plan, direct and control premium services within the facility to meet operating and financial goals, client objectives and customer needs.

  • Assist the General Manager/Director of Concessions with the concessions operation to include duties such as booking, selecting and costing menu items, pricing, equipment rental, clerical responsibilities and general office duties.

  • Supervise the preparation and service of food and refreshments, as well as clean-up.

  • Directly supervise concessions employees with responsibility for hiring, discipline, performance reviews and initiating pay increases

  • Set up & break down of events

  • Inventory & ordering of alcohol and more

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required. (Must graduate between December 2019 August 2020 to be eligible for the FY20 A2L Program)There are two start dates for the 2020 Program: February 19, 2020 and July 16, 2020. All degree requirements must be completed prior to the start date of the program (including any final internship requirements).

  • Strong organizational and time management skills required.

  • Leadership skills, inclusive of supervisory responsibilities, team lead in a club/organization, and/or project management.

  • The ability to communicate in an appropriate, clear, and concise manner with customers, clients, employees and leadership.

  • The ability to manage through change and ambiguity in a fast pace environment.

  • Cost control, budget responsibilities or inventory management experience desired.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends or holidays according to business need.

  • Ability / openness to relocation according to program / business need

  • Valid driver's license preferred

  • Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Aramark for this position now or in the future

Student Geriatric Associates (SGAs) work closely with Geriatric Nurse Consultants to provide targeted interventions that address a broad scope of geriatric issues known to contribute to cognitive and functional decline during hospitalization. SGAs can assist with ambulation and range of motion exercises, aid in bathing and care of intact skin, assist with toileting and continence care, provide feeding support and tray setup, and provide cognitive stimulation through recreational activities. SGAs at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania are found in 4 areas – Emergency Medicine, Cardiac Intermediate Care, Medical Oncology and the Advanced Medicine Units. * Students in Emergency Medicine work in the ED and EDOU. * Students in Medical Oncology work in Dulles 6 * Students in Cardiac Intermediate Care will work across 2 units-- Founders 10 and Founders 11. * Students in Advanced Medicine work across 3 Units –Silverstein 11, Founders 12, and Founders 14. There are 2 orientations for the Student Geriatric Associate Summer 2020 cohort – May 18th through May 20th and June 22nd through June 24th. Students must be able to attend one of those orientations. This is a year-round program for matriculated students. It is not a summer externship. All Student Geriatric Associates are expected to commit to at least 6 months in the program.
