The School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) is seeking an hourly Academic Wage: Faculty Research Assistant. This is a part-time (0.45 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term position. This position is anticipated to last approximately 2 months.
The Faculty Research Assistant will support the PI in research on human-in-loop underwater robot manipulation. The Faculty Research Assistant will identify, collect, analyze, and interpret primary data describing how humans interpret sensing data from a robot manipulator, and how humans interact with an autonomous manipulator system to make decisions about the best way to grasp objects. They will assist with behavioral research design, human subjects data collection, and data analysis. They will write research papers. They may work with undergraduate and graduate students working on similar projects.

What You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in psychology or equivalent field
Knowledge of behavioral research methods and statistics.
Experience Programming in R.
Experience with Document preparation using Overleaf
General knowledge of human-in-loop underwater robot manipulation and shared autonomy systems
Experience working effectively with diverse groups of students, researchers, and staff.
What We Would Like You to Have
Previous research experience in human-in-loop underwater robot manipulation
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Most work will be completed in a lab environment during normal business hours
