Responsible for the oversight of all day-to-day operations within the Academic Program Services (APS) Department. Perform all duties in accordance with the University's policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the University operates.


Receive general supervision from the Associate Vice Chancellor, Military and Student Services.

General Supervision indicates that the incumbent develops procedures for performance of variety of duties; or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines.




  • Provide direct oversight of APS operations and team members.

  • Serve as lead trainer for APS processes and direct the Leads in performing training with new staff.

  • Serves as articulation and program evaluation expert for the Academic Advising community.

  • Provides articulation and program evaluation information & resources to department, division, and campus representative.

  • Manage the Daily SGASTDN report and monitor all program priorities and program changes.

  • Manage conferral and validation processes in Degree Works and Banner.

  • Lead the development of academic programs in Degree Works module via scribe tools.

  • Oversee the testing and troubleshooting of the implementation of all Degree Works releases and upgrades.

  • Ensure the APS workflows and processes are effective and efficient.

  • Serve as lead for training external staff on APS processes; assess training progress of staff and provide continual feedback.

  • Attend committee meetings, as required.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.




  • Knowledge of federal and institutional record privacy regulations (FERPA)

  • Knowledge of higher education academic policy and procedure requirements, preferred

  • Skilled in monitoring and assessing the performance of direct reports and the immediate work unit to make improvements or take corrective action

  • Ability to effectively plan, assign, and supervise the work of others

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of constituents

  • Ability to analytically think and clearly communicate conclusions and recommendations

  • Ability to train and mentor others

  • Ability to use diplomacy and maintain a high-level of confidentiality


  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience


  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Familiarity with the use of standard office equipment (e.g. copier, fax, scanner, etc.)
