Under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs and College Secretary in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES); works directly with students and student academic advisors, as well as faculty, staff and other stakeholders to support student success and progress to degree; interacts in a variety of problem-solving situations which require critical thinking skills and the ability to investigate and resolve routine to complex issues as appropriate; assists in the implementation and coordination of college and university initiatives.

Supports academic affairs functions of the College: processes academic affairs transactions in the Student Information System including course adds/drops; curriculum petitions; retroactive actions; degree audit exceptions; posting and removing holds; posting probation; posting grades, etc.; coordinates college correspondence related to end-of-semester academic record review of students and communicates with students and academic advisors regarding decisions and directs to academic resources; prepares online resources (CarmenCanvas, web pages), presentations and handouts for new student orientation programs, advising meetings/workshops, presentations, and teaching; provides faculty and instructor support for the CarmenCanvas learning platform.

Collaborates with the CFAES Committee on Academic Affairs Chair and unit representatives from Academic Departments, the School of Environment and Natural Resources (SENR), and the Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) at the Wooster campus; supports the revision and maintenance of degree and curricular plans; produces, updates and distributes course and curricular documentation; verifies curricula are accurately represented in internal and external facing venues including websites, student degree planning and completion resources, and advising portals; develops and updates web-based resources and collaborates to support outreach strategies and training resources for faculty and staff.

Assists in organizing graduating senior completion information and events: interacts with students and answers questions regarding graduation processes and procedures; assists in maintaining databases, adjusting names for diplomas when requested by students, monitoring transfer credit, checking for holds, etc.; accesses data on students and courses from SIS and SSRS; assists in preparing and distributing correspondence to graduating seniors;; communicates with students regarding commencement activities and organizes lineup for rehearsal and commencement; notifies students of special events related to graduation and answers students and guest queries; assists in collecting diploma distribution information for students not attending commencement; assists in notifying Registrar's Office and Office of Commencement and Special Events of additions, deletions, and changes; assists with coordinating proofreading of diplomas for CFAES-Columbus and CFAES-Wooster (ATI).

Coordinates student orientation programming: communicates with incoming students regarding processes and procedures related to student orientation; coordinates orientation outreach and programming for incoming new first year students and transfer students; supports college academic counselors in developing and distributing resources for incoming students via CarmenCanvas, publications, and email communications; collaborates with university First Year Experience team to manage orientation requirements.

Attends meetings; supervises student employees.

Position may occasionally require work on nights and weekends.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Minimum Desired Qualifications

Proficiency with the OSU Student Information System (SIS), SSRS Data Platform, CarmenCanvas, OnBase and OnCourse student record systems, and Degree Audit UAchieve platform. Proficiency with student record and registrations transactions.

Demonstrated skill with Qualtrics. Ability to develop and manage web-based information.
