Job Description
Administrative Faculty Contract. Non Tenure Track, Benefits Eligible.
This is a temporary position dependent upon grant funding. The position is being filled through an emergency appointment. Appointment to the role on a permanent basis is contingent upon meeting additional recruitment requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate Early Childhood Education Programming
Assume full responsibility for the completion of the grant funded project by directing the project work and reporting outcomes to the funding agency
Adhere to and implement institutional policies and procedures as they relate to the project
Adhere to and implement funder guidelines and requirements
Plan and implement all aspects of the project
Maintain a record of all grant expenditures and outcomes
Review and approve effort reports for individuals paid by the grant
Maintain information related to cost share/matching
Retain all records following NSHE and funder policy, in the event of an audit
Manage the day-to-day operations of the ECE program
Serve as primary point of contact for external stakeholder's inquiries or information requests, including program management information and questions; attend partner and agency meetings to provide program information and updates
Develop annual budgets for operating and personnel costs; monitor and adhere to budgets; submit budget revisions as needed
Develop course schedules to accommodate programming needs, adjusting in response to student and workforce feedback
Submit purchasing needs for textbooks, instructional supplies, equipment, and materials; ensure requests and purchases align with approved budget
Establish and maintain partnerships with childcare facilities in the WNC service area for practicum and job referral purposes:
Design, coordinate and supervise student practicums to ensure relevant hands-on experience
Develop a referral process for employment opportunities to include, but not limited to, job fairs, on-site interviews or advance standing for participation/completion in WNC's ECE program
Participate in committees, initiatives and advocacy efforts that support the advancement of Early Childhood Education and workforce conditions
Support students
Monitor student progress to ensure students are making appropriate gains
Meet with instructors to discuss students who are not making adequate progress
Assist students to overcome barriers and obstacles that are impacting their overall performance and success within the program
Assist with accessing Disability Support Services and other resources when additional learning supports are needed
Refer students to necessary resources, including counseling or crisis management
Instruction
Develop and facilitate established and approved courses
Determine class schedules, delivery modes, and instructors
Ensure classes are staffed at least 3 weeks prior to the start of each session
Instruct courses as needed or appropriate
Substitute or serve as a guest speaker for any of the classes offered
Ensure the instructional environment supports effective student learning both online and in person
Ensure minimum enrollment numbers per class
Determine appropriate curriculum or textbooks
Ensure safe and inclusive teaching practices are being used
Oversee and track attainment of student learning outcomes
Implement and follow WNC's conduct policy and procedures
Manage non-routine student and faculty behavior issues that rise to the level of severe disruption
Inform the director and student conduct officer, as appropriate
Hire, train, supervise, coach and evaluate instructors
Adhere to WNC hiring and supervisory practices
Ensure all new instructors actively participate and complete WNC's New Teacher Training
Develop and implement new hire onboarding processes to ensure adjustment to the social and performance expectations
Orient instructors to classroom curriculum, delivery and available student resources
Encourage and support use of effective classroom strategies
Evaluate instructor performance through direct observation of instructional delivery; ensure adherence to prescribed curriculum
Follow effective leadership practices to coach and mentor instructors
Facilitate meetings with instructors, as needed
Ensure instructors -
Have access to necessary software, systems or LMS platforms
Comply with ADA, FERPA, and other confidentiality measures, guidelines, requirements and policies
Comply with all required training and certification
Are knowledgeable and understand how to implement grant requirements
Outreach & Recruitment
Develop, implement and oversee strategic plan to recruit students, including partnering with schools and agencies
Attend and participate in outreach events and activities to represent and promote the program
Maintain relationships with college departments, social service agencies, and other external stakeholders to ensure accurate awareness of the program
Collaborate with Marketing Department to develop collateral
Disseminate program materials where it may have the most potential for recruitment
Professional Responsibilities
Model open communication, respectful interactions and collegiality with all stakeholders
Establish and maintain an appropriate network of professional contacts in other NSHE and regional institutions
Engage in a continuous improvement process (Plan-Do-Study/Analyze-Revise), using data to inform program enhancements
Serve on the committees and participate in college activities, as needed

Experience delivering training to adults
Supervisory experience
Experience working with rural and frontier communities
Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS)
Second language proficiency (written and oral), Spanish preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, hiring practices and recruiting strategies for Early Childhood Education
Program planning/development and evaluation
Knowledge of data analysis and assessment methods to evaluate program effectiveness
Knowledge of work-based learning models, policies and procedures
Knowledge of college and NSHE system policies and practices that apply to grant management
Familiarity with WNC's service area and demographics
Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and databases, strong data management skills
Proficiency in utilizing various technology platforms
Cultural competence and diversity awareness
Accuracy and attention to detail

Minimum Starting Salary Information:
This position is at a salary grade C. The minimum of the placement range is $73,531.55. The selected candidate will be placed at or above the minimum based on education and experience. WNC's placement range falls within the NSHE salary schedule: NSHE ADMINISTRATIVE SALARY SCHEDULE

Grants-in-aid for Faculty Employees
WNC is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate. Dependents of faculty have unlimited credits, but in order to be eligible children must be unmarried and under the age of 24 and must receive at least 50% of their financial support from the employee and/or employee's spouse or domestic partner.
