The Department of Geology and Geophysics at Texas A&M University is pleased to announce the Michel T. Halbouty '30 Visiting Chair (Visiting Professor) in Geology and Geophysics.

The purpose of Mr.

Halbouty's generous gift is to "Promote excellence in the teaching and research of the Department of Geology and Geophysics." Candidates should have a PhD in Geology, Geophysics or related field, be at the Associate or Full Professor rank or hold an equivalent title, and be highly accomplished scholars with an internationally recognized record of excellence in their field of study. Chair holders should plan to be at the Texas A&M College Station campus and engage with department faculty and students in research and teaching for up to twelve months duration. The appointment may include partial salary support, housing and travel expenses, and expenses related to proposed teaching, research, and engagement activities.

The College of Geosciences at Texas A&M University is a unique institution committed to fundamental Earth systems research across four Departments: Atmospheric Sciences, Geography, Oceanography, and Geology and Geophysics.

The College hosts the Texas Sea Grant, the Geochemical and Environmental Research Group (GERG), and the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP). This appointment includes the opportunity to work across departments and programs in the College and lead international coursework to maximize educational opportunities for our undergraduate and graduate students.

VIEW JOBS 11/22/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-20T00:00 The Liberal Arts Program at Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) (https://www.qatar.tamu.edu/programs/liberal-arts/) invites applications for three full-time, academic professional track faculty positions in English at the rank of Instructional Assistant Professor. These three positions will have a 9-month academic appointment with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2020. Appointees are eligible for promotion in the academic professional career track at Texas A&M University in Qatar after a probationary period. Ph.D. is required by August 2020 in English, Technical Writing, Writing Studies, or Rhetoric and Composition. Additional qualifications in L2 Writing, Applied Linguistics, or TESOL are welcome. The Liberal Arts Program is committed to a culturally and academically diverse faculty, and candidates who would enhance the Liberal Arts Program's diversity are encouraged to apply. Depending on areas of expertise, appointees may teach courses in technical and business writing, composition and rhetoric, and/or Foundations of English, an integrated sequence of courses focused on developing competency in the core skills of academic reading, writing, and oral communication. There may also be opportunities to teach core curriculum elective courses. The typical teaching load is 3:3 for Instructional Assistant Professors. All faculty are expected to be active in appropriate service activities. Collaborative pedagogical projects with faculty members in TAMUQ's engineering programs and in other institutions are encouraged. TAMUQ is a partnership with Qatar Foundation. Established in 2003, TAMUQ offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical, Electrical and Computer, Mechanical, and Petroleum Engineering and a Master Program in Chemical Engineering. The degree programs are identical to those of the main campus at College Station, Texas. A Texas A&M University diploma is awarded to graduates.
