As the Academic Immunology Sales Specialist, you will:

  • Achievesales quota by delivering market share and market share growth, as well asother key metrics within the assigned geography by using discretion andjudgment to execute the franchise and company brand strategy and tactics withinthe assigned customer segment, which may include physicians within specialtymedical practices and their staff, specialists within local hospitals, clinics,and pharmacists within the specified geographic area.

  • Influencedecision makers and influencers within their assigned customer base to supportthe use of the company's products in the treatment of multiple relevant diseasestates by developing and applying clinical and business expertise, andeffective selling skills. This individual will influence decision makers bydeveloping and delivering a targeted sales message based on accurate clinicalinformation, using approved medical reprints to support the case, anddiscussing therapeutic strategies.

  • Executemarketing strategies at the local level, leveraging resources appropriately andworking successfully with company team members and counterparts to share ideasand information to enhance business result and customer loyalty by identifyingand cultivating relationships with key decision makers at the local level whocan influence decision making within the healthcare provider systems.

  • Gain accessto promoted products and, subsequently, selling these products in targeted

Rheumatology, Gastroenterology and Dermatology teaching institutions and/orhospitals and clinics by establishing mutually beneficial, long-term businessrelationships with influential residents, fellows, attending physicians,pharmacists, and healthcare providers within the targeted institutions andcoordinating Academic sales strategies with appropriate teammates to maximizesales within the assigned institutions.

  • Productaccess, acceptance and usage; creating implementing and evaluating strategiesto develop Fellows, Residents, and Key Opinion Leaders within their assignedinstitutions; developing, implementing and evaluating effective business plansfor each assigned institution; maintaining administrative functions such ascall reporting, safe driving, expense accounting, and written andoral communications and representing the company at scientific conventions andwhile conducting educational programs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimumof a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two (2) years of successfulpharmaceutical, biologic / biotech or medical device sales experience with aminimum of one (1) year of specialty sales experience

  • A validdriver's license issued in one (1) of the fifty (50) United States

  • Willing to travel up which may include weekend and/or overnight travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of reimbursement, payer, provider and infusionoperations

  • Working knowledge of immunology, dermatology, rheumatology, and/orgastroenterology.

  • Priorexperience managing through complex reimbursement issues

  • Candidateswith prior Management Development courses, experience in project-oriented selling situations in a high incentive andindividual performance culture, along with a documented successful salesperformance (high growth, results vs. plan)

Responsible for establishing TearScience as the clinical and financial solution for evaporative dry eye to leading ophthalmic and OD practices in a predefined geographic territory. Responsible for closing capital equipment devices, installation, implementation training of the device(s) with usage requirements for a trailing consumable to predefined levels set by TearScience and ongoing account support. Other areas of responsibility include generating leads, building relationships with key physicians and key accounts, and effectively develop and manage a defined sales territory. The following duties will be personally performed in support of TearScience business goals and objectives. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Sell, install and train account staff on capital equipment within assigned geographic territory with quota responsibility monthly, quarterly, and annually as defined by TearScience * Sell, implement, coordinate and conduct practice training on disposable devices branded as activators from LipiFlow usage, usage fees on the LipiView interferometer, and service within company protocols each fiscal year as defined by TearScience * Execution of the missionary sales cycle. This includes identifying accounts that make good short and long-term partners to include early-adopting key ophthalmic opinion leaders, market leaders based on clinical reputation, along with high volume practices and assisting them in becoming TearScience champions. This process includes educating and training them on core TearScience concepts, conducting strategic business analysis of dry eye prevalence within the practice, training the physicians and staff on usage of the equipment, instruction on dry eye patient flow and monitoring key growth drivers within the practice * Demonstrate proficiency and the ability to work with other sales team members as well as TearScience customer support groups such as service, clinical and Practice Advocates. * Executes the sales and approved TearScience marketing plan(s) to achieve the territories' market and business plan penetration, volume and dollar sales objectives on an annual basis. * Analyzes territory account conversion percentages, make recommendations and implement changes in practice development initiatives to ensure practice success. * Manages the approved territory budget for expenses and protects all company assets that are in their possession including but not limited to demo equipment, disposables and computers. * Provides regular updates to assigned Area Director (or VP of Sales, N. America) and the TearScience management team regarding sales, sales channel development, forecast and market conditions as well as competitive activity. * Ability to work with and maintain a professional and credible image with key physicians, advisors, vendors and co- workers. * Regularly input current account information and sales activity as well as utilize company's CRM system. * Flexibility to assume other duties as assigned by TearScience management * Ability and willingness to travel +/- 80% within territory and at national shows. * Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures to achieve and meet FDA, ISO and MOH regulations. Qualifications Minimum Education * BA/ BS Degree Minimum Experience / Training Required * Minimum eight to ten years of demonstrated successful selling experience with non-reimbursed patient pay medical device procedures and medical device industry. * Proven sales track record of successfully introducing new procedures, and creating customer business financial success. * Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key doctors and staff members and an in depth knowledge of the inner workings of an ophthalmic office including chart reviews and reimbursement strategies.
