Keuka College is seeking an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for our Applied Health and Wellness division, a role that is central to the success of our Occupational Therapy program. The ideal candidate will be a licensed occupational therapist with a master's degree awarded by a USDE recognized institutional accrediting body and NBCOT certification, bringing at least two years of clinical experience to the table. This multifaceted position not only involves managing and evaluating our OT fieldwork program in line with ACOTE standards but also includes classroom instruction and active participation in institutional projects. Summary:

The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) position for the applied health and wellness division is responsible for the implementation, management, and evaluation of the OT fieldwork program at Keuka College in accordance with the national standards set out by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) and in keeping with the mission, vision, and values as well as the guidelines and policies of Keuka College. This is an open faculty position and as such responsibilities will also include classroom instruction and other institutional duties such as participation on institutional projects or committees, so long as these duties do not interfere with the management and administration of the fieldwork program.

Essential Responsibilities:

Fieldwork Coordination

  • Recommend fieldwork policy revisions in keeping with college and accreditation requirements.

  • Coordinate the work of support staff to carry out the work needed to support the OT fieldwork program.

  • Work with the Division Chair and other OT faculty to coordinate the fieldwork program in keeping with the strategic efforts of the division and the College.

  • Design and implement relevant assignments for students and fieldwork educators.

  • Develop course objectives, course materials and educational experiences that promote optimal learning for students.

  • Evaluate student learning outcomes for fieldwork experiences to meet the objectives of the program and the organization.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies to meet the needs of the OT fieldwork program.

  • Develop and implement a plan that effectively evaluates fieldwork educators and fieldwork sites to meet the objectives of the program and the college.

  • Develop and maintain accurate electronic OT fieldwork program records and related documents and reports in a timely manner to meet accreditation and administrative requirements.

  • Assist in the preparation, development, and coordination of legal contracts and associated issues for establishment and maintenance of contracts.

  • Attending appropriate regional, state, and national programs and meetings to maintain knowledge of trends, developments and standards for OT fieldwork programs, and to advocate for the Keuka College OT program and the discipline of Occupational Therapy.

  • Develop and support relationships with outside agencies to benefit the Occupational Therapy Program and Keuka College.

Classroom Instruction

  • Provide quality instruction in AHW division's programs.

  • Participate in evaluation and development of program curriculum.

  • Participate in program assessment.

  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching, professional development, and scholarship.

  • Contribute to the College and general community through participation in college functions, community activities, and committee service.

  • Collaborate and instruct courses in the curriculum that match candidate's background.

  • Advise students.

  • Assist with graduate student scholarship activities and advising as assigned.

  • Ensure that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in a team process for projects that require data analysis for supporting best practices in health care delivery.

  • Maintain and/or develop knowledge that supports evidence based clinical practice.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Occupational therapist who is licensed or otherwise regulated according to state regulations of New York.

  • A master's degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDE recognized institutional accrediting body.

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certified.

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist in OT practice treating clients with a variety of developmental, social/emotional and/or physical dysfunctions required.

  • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interact effectively with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.

  • Ability to evaluate interpersonal dynamics between OT practitioners and students to resolve issues and determine action plans.

  • Ability to be sensitive to and respond professionally to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings as needed.

  • Ability to travel for on-site fieldwork site visits periodically as needed.

  • Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions.

  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and other electronic management systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of boxes, supplies, etc., generally less than 30lbs.

  • Some evening and weekend hours required.
