Seton Hill University invites applications for an Academic Fieldwork Coordinator/Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy for a developing Doctoral of Occupational Therapy program with a start date between September 1, 2024 - October 15, 2024.

Seton Hill's occupational therapy doctorate program focus is optimizing health and wellbeing throughout the lifespan by engaging in meaningful activities and occupations. The program fosters wellbeing and life balance for students, faculty, fieldwork educators and clients. Experiential learning is supported by all program faculty.

Responsibilities:

The Academic Fieldwork Coordinator is a core faculty member responsible for the coordination, oversight, and management of two level I and two level II fieldwork placements for each student (50%) and teaching, advising and scholarly activity (50%). The coordinator develops learning experiences related to fieldwork and ensures the program's compliance with ACOTE fieldwork education Standards.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Doctoral degree (professional entry or post professional).

  • Licensed or eligible for Pennsylvania occupational therapy licensure.

  • Two years of occupational therapy experience including:

  • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist.

  • Professional experience as a fieldwork educator or plan for completing fieldwork educator training (AOTA).

  • Commitment to optimizing health and wellbeing through occupation.

  • Commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence .

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to foster collaborative problem-solving.

  • Exceptional ability to multitask and manage projects.

Preferred Experience:

  • Teaching in higher education.

  • Working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds.

  • Supervising, managing or mentoring others.

  • Learning to use scheduling or database software.
