Job Description:
TITLE: Academic Field Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Health Science
SUPERVISOR: Department Chair, Health Sciences
SSTA APPROVER: Linda Larrivee
SCHEDULE: Part time 15 hours per week

General Statement of Duties:
The Part time Staff Associate, Academic Field Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of academic fieldwork within the Department of Health Sciences.

Responsibilities:
(E) = Essential

Documentation Responsibilities

  1. (E) Initiates placement agreements (contracts) between the university and fieldwork sites and ensures they are properly executed and updated on an annual basis.
  2. (E) Coordinates with the Director of Procurement and Accounts Payable and the AA office to ensure adequate liability requirements of field work sites,.
  3. (E) Provides students (entering junior year) with the link to PRACTICUM
  4. (E) Coordinates the CORI process with HR for Level I fieldwork students who are completing includes distribution and collection of forms, verifying and copying identification, reviewing results provided by HR, and providing signed letter to department secretary to be sent to sites.
  5. (E) Maintains statistical data on practicum students

Placement Responsibilities



  1. (E) Develops and maintains contact with affiliating fieldwork sites and educators with the department chair.
  2. (E) Maintains current and accurate information and evaluations for Levels I and II fieldwork for internal and external use; maintains Levels I and II fieldwork files for students to review information about fieldwork placements.
  3. (E) Develops and maintains fieldwork database.

Student-related Responsibilities



  1. (E) Works with the faculty supervisor to ensure students are aware of special requirements of any fieldwork site.
  2. (E) Develops and manages the fieldwork program, including handling student fieldwork placements, reservations, confirmations, withdrawals, and failures.
  3. (E) Works with department faculty members and instructors of the practicum seminar to guide students as they prepare for and pursue their fieldwork experiences.
  4. Assists with student advising during the preregistration period.

General Responsibilities



  1. (E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.
  2. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
1.Master's degree in public health or a related field.
2.Minimum two years of experience working in Public Health and or Healthcare organizations
3.Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Leadership and management experience a plus
2.Previous experience coordinating student field experiences
