The Academic Coordinator supports two core functions within Defense Programs. The Academic Coordinator will support the Defense Comptrollership Program, the 14-month dual degree program (MBA with a concentration in Business Analytics from the Whitman School of Management and an EMPA from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs). Duties include mastering University systems related to application, admissions, matriculation, registration, degree confirmation and graduation. The Academic Coordinator will support non-degree programs, both on campus and off-site (Army Comptroller Course, Executive Comptroller Course, Senior Resource Managers Course and Financial Management 101 Course). Duties include security training facilities, booking travel for instructors and guest speakers (transportation and housing), catering and the like.
Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience ( 5 years of related experience).
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities
Responsible for overall administration of the Defense Comptrollership Program.
Works with the Army and DOD agencies to facilitate pre-program and in program requirements and correspondence.
Creates an online registration portal converting the data to reports. Manages applications, GMAT scores, collects transcripts, and works with Syracuse University's Graduate Enrollment Management Center on processing and approving applications.
Processes Internal Admissions Applications for the EMPA degree.
Acquires NetIDs, creates, and maintains the cohort's Blackboard site and listservs.
Responsible for student registration, advising students, summer semester scheduling, textbook purchases, tuition invoicing and payment collection, budget and inventory tracking, purchase CDFM exams, materials shipments, speaker/instructor payments, requisition processing, and maintenance/update of web content.
Facilitates all end of program paperwork, tracking Diploma Request Cards, collecting and processing Program of Study forms for the student's MBA degree, EMPA degree and certificates, and completion of Army Form 1059A, Civilian Institution Academic Evaluation Report.
Provides operational support to Defense Programs short courses (Senior Resource Managers Course, Executive Comptroller Course, Army Comptroller Course and Financial Management 101 Course).
Reconcile JP Morgan credit cards for assigned sponsored program in the time sensitive period.
Develop necessary reports to adequately track admissions, student progress and report on program performance and outcomes.
Track and report all results, trends, and statistics as required.
Manage and maintain program alumni databases.
Respond to prospective and accepted student inquires via phone, email, mail, and fax in a timely, professional, and accurate manner.
Develop and support ongoing recruitment and marketing initiatives, including presentations, brochures, program websites, and other promotional materials to effectively promote the programs and strategically communicate with prospective participants.
Identify, schedule and support instructors and speakers for summer semesters of the program.
Arrange and execute Defense Comptrollership Program events to include the DCP alumni reception at the American Society of Military Comptrollers PDI, DCP orientation, Beta Gamma Sigma ceremony and graduation ceremony, receptions and lunches.
