Now the boring stuff:

POSITION PURPOSE: Directs all phases of the Housekeeping Department within established Marcus Corporation and AC Marriott policies, practices and procedures.


  • Hire, train, terminate, schedule, and supervise Housekeeping Associates. Establishes standards of cleanliness for all Housekeeping areas of responsibility.

  • Represents the department with professionalism and decorum.

  • Coordinates all rehabilitation projects.

  • Establishes and maintains effective employee relations.

  • Responsible for inventory control of Housekeeping supplies, linen and equipment.

  • Oversees the operation of the Housekeeping office.

  • Inspects public areas on a regular basis.

  • Plots direction and long term goals for the Housekeeping department.

  • Controls and analyzes, on an on-going basis, departmental cost to ensure performance against budget.

  • Schedules/coordinates contract work.

  • Ensures associate coaching is administered timely and fairly.

  • Oversees all training.

  • Oversees the development of the staff for succession planning.

  • Prepares Housekeeping budgets and forecasts.

  • Ensures appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are maintained.

  • Ensures regular departmental meetings are being held.

  • Fully knowledgeable with the hotel's Fire, Safety, Security, and Environmental procedures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Previous housekeeping management experience, with thorough knowledge of all housekeeping procedures, other rooms leadership in a hotel or resort would be helpful but not required

  • High School Diploma required, advanced degree in hospitality or related field preferred.

  • Supervisory skills, with the ability to successfully develop and retain a quality staff and maintain harmonious associate relations.

  • Good interpersonal skills and verbal communication skills.

  • Complete knowledge on operations of all cleaning equipment and material, including vacuum cleaners, push carts and normal cleaning chemicals.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred.

  • Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule.

  • Represent Marcus Hotels in a professional manner internally, with industry peers and guests/clients.

  • Must be able to physically and visually inspect all areas of hotel.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, stretch, and reach; primarily to physically and visually inspect all areas of the hotel.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Embody the harmonious, discerning and modern mindset of the AC Hotels by Marriott® brand by greeting and registering guests and providing prompt and courteous service. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Check guests in and out of room. 2. Able to provide accurate and appropriate information to guests and customers. 3. Input and retrieve information routinely from computer systems with electronic and numerical codes. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests needs. 4. Respond to guest requests and handle guest issues or report complaints to management. 5. Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency and/or heavy hotel activity. 6. Promptly answer telephone in a professional and clear manner. Input all information into computers to communicate guest requests and complaints. 7. Effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts. 8. Answer guest questions regarding area or hotel, outlet information and services. 9. Greet and welcome guest as they arrive to the hotel. 10. Perform other duties as assigned. POSITION REQUIREMENTS 1. Ability to stand and move throughout the front office and continuously perform essential job functions. 2.
