JOB SUMMARY

This person is guest focused, friendly, has an eye for details and is an outgoing individual that greets and assist our guests. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task effectively and work in a fast-paced environment. Responsible for preparing food items for consumption in the AC Kitchen and the AC Lounge.

CORE WORK REQUIREMENTS

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to communicate the AC Kitchen concept and is knowledgeable about B&F offerings

  • Extends professionalism and courtesy to guests and associates at all times

  • Provide excellent customer service by anticipating the guests needs at all times while exceeding their expectations

  • Takes proactive approaches when dealing with guest concerns and responds to them in a timely manner

  • Act with integrity by respecting guest privacy and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information

  • Lives the Spirit to Serve philosophy to our associates, our community and our guest

  • Provides information and assistance to hotel guests and associates regarding the local area and hotel amenities

  • Greet all guests applying the Marriott 15/5 rule

  • Complete all opening and closing duties in a quick and efficient manner

  • Reads daily production charts to discern AC Kitchen needs to estimate food requirements and gathers food from storage

  • Fill out any HAACP Logs and complete all checklists and turn in to manager at the end of your shift

  • Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe

  • Basic cooking safety and skills needed including measuring, portioning, chopping, knife handling and storing food

  • Follow all recipe cards and plating guides to ensure consistency, portions, presentation, temperature and quality of food production

  • Operates Rationale oven and Turbo Chef oven to spec, based on food preparation for AC Kitchen breakfast and AC Lounge guest orders

  • Observes and tests food being prepared and cooked. Uses thermometer to ensure food is cooked/maintained at proper temperature as needed

  • Washes, peels, cuts and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use

  • Preparation of food which may include soups, entrees, sauces, cutting meat and fish, and preparing daily specials for restaurant and banquets

  • Use First in First Out method and properly date and store food items to ensure quality and freshness in conjunction with Federal and State regulations

  • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pans according to hotel's standard of cleanliness

  • Monitor equipment daily and report problems via work order system

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment compliant with Federal, State, Marriott and Terratron policies and procedures

  • Responsible for cleaning and upkeep of the Kitchen including but not limited to equipment, counters, doors, floors, etc.

  • Stocking of any supplies, cleaning or food products as needed and as per Marriott Brand Standard

  • Ability to prepare beverages including coffee, specialty coffee drinks if requested

  • Provide assistance by busing, cleaning and resetting tables, delivering food to guests

  • Complete necessary paperwork during shift

General Duties and Expectations:

  • General Equipment Knowledge- Maintain the care and cleanliness of all mechanical equipment

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures put in place by Marriott and Terratron

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean, professional and per Brand Standard

  • Speak with guests and associates using clear, respectful and professional language

  • Adhere to safe working conditions in compliance with OSHA, SDS and ADA laws

  • Understands and performs basic safety, security and emergency procedures of the hotel as well as recognizing and correcting potential safety hazards

  • Report and record any accidents, injuries or unsafe work conditions to manager on duty (First Report of Injury paperwork)

  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with others and be a team player that assists in other departments when necessary

  • Lead by example in demonstrating self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm

  • Comply with proper key handling procedures

  • Solicit feedback for continuous improvement

  • Perform other duties as needed or by the request of the Director of B&F or General Manager

REQUIRED SKILLS

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to carry, walk, push, pull, and lift items of up to 50 lbs. to knee height and stand or move continuously during work hours

  • Must be a fast learner, obtain strong organizational skills and be able to multitask with competing priorities

  • Strong interpersonal skills and can communicate well both verbally and in writing

  • Strong computer knowledge and experience and cash handling skills

  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and maintain sanitary conditions

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED or greater

  • Able to work a flexible schedule which may include days, nights, weekends and some holidays

  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English in order to meet guests needs and complete required paperwork

  • Must be able to work independently, is dependable and reliable

  • Maintains a professional appearance, is personable and has excellent customer service skills
