The Alliance of Border Collaboratives (ABC) strives to ensure that low-income and underserved minority populations can exercise their rights to receive appropriate prevention, care, and treatment services. ABC is located in the City of El Paso, TX, and we offer our services to communities in El Paso, Culberson, Hudspeth, and Presidio Counties in TX, and Otero, Luna, and Doña Ana Counties in NM.

The VISTA Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation and management of the Health Navigation Services (HNS) volunteer program aimed to increase volunteer recruitment and retention rates and to support the HNS current operations and sustainability strategy. The HNS goal is to increase access to care and improve the health outcomes of the underserved, low-income minority communities in El Paso, Culberson, Hudspeth and Presidio Counties in TX. We are looking for a VISTA member who has an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, human resources, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 1-2 years of experience in volunteer recruitment, communication, and recognition strategies, volunteer program policy and procedures, and training curricula development and delivery.

The candidate should have the commitment to work with underserved, low-income minority communities, and the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams. In addition, the candidate should have excellent problem solving, communication, organizational and time management, and written skills. The VISTA member will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the Project Director and Coordinator, volunteers, and Community Advisory Board members, network with partner organizations and community leaders, and will have access to professional development opportunities.

Member Duties : As the VISTA Volunteer Coordinator for our Health Navigation Services project you will: 1) Develop and implement the project volunteer management plan focused on volunteer recruitment, empowerment, communications, and recognition strategies; 2) Create and implement a volunteer orientation and training opportunities plan, including the design, development and delivery of the volunteer training curricula, 3) Develop the project volunteers recruitment and retention policy and procedural guide to provide the structure, principles and guidance to effectively manage the project volunteer program, and 4) Develop the Volunteer Management Handbook (aka. Volunteer Handbook). As the VISTA Volunteer Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to work in collaboration with the Project Director, Project Coordinator, members of our Community Advisory Board, volunteers, local community partners, and other project stakeholders.
