Job Description:

Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking talented engineers to join our organization within Pratt & Whitney's Project Engineering discipline during the summer of 2019. Intern level project engineers will be valuable members of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) for Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) made up of design, structures, product modeling and systems analysts. The intern level project engineer will be tasked with supporting part manufacturing, delivery, engine assembly and testing efforts for the A320neo PIP (Performance Improvement Package) HPC (High Pressure Compressor). The A320neo PIP High Pressure Compressor is in the early development phase with plans to enter production in 2021.

This is a unique opportunity for a college graduate or emerging professional to work on the best and most sophisticated engines in the world.

Level of responsibility includes:

  • Work with the HPC rotating Hardware IPTs to define Engine test objectives and hardware requirements.

  • Become familiar with the Hardware configuration, manufacturing, quality and instrumentation requirements.

  • Provide status on manufacturing, engine assembly and testing. Ensure component validation test objectives are satisfied. Document results.

Supporting the Compressions Systems Engineering Module Center, the Rig Leader is responsible for the A320neo Performance Improvement Package (PIP) High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT). The A320neo PIP engine is in the early development phase with plans to enter production in 2022. The Aero 2.5 Rig Leader develops and leads the plans for the Rig design plans in addition to manufacturing, assembly, test and validation efforts. You will work with multiple disciplines across organizations to define and document requirements, achieve key validation milestones, and meet deadlines. As Rig Leader you will: * Collaborate between MTU-Germany (the rig manufacturer), the RSIT (Rig Systems Integration Team), the HPC CIPT and the Program Office. * Provide key learning for the design and validation of the HPC module * Negotiate configuration and validation requirements to meet customer and program goals. * Develop and ensure HPC requirements in the execution of the rig test plan * Incorporate requirements in Test Job Requests (TJRs).
