Position Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and supporting activities related to aircraft assembly jigs, tools, and equipment at the Final Assembly Line (FAL) - USA to ensure coordination of preventive maintenance, proactive and reactive repair, warranty management, and metric reporting.

Essential Functions (Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the operational day to day maintenance activities for the FAL including coordinating maintenance service provider activities on the site.

  • Oversee/lead root cause analysis investigations of equipment failures. Audit reports/documentation for accuracy/thoroughness. Strict adherence to regulations of applicable international, federal, state and local laws with respect to operation of the FAL and ensure compliance to warranty program requirements.

  • Coordinate metrology vendor activities on site for measurement of tooling and engineering support of aircraft measurement.

  • Manage subcontractor activities to prevent impact to manufacturing operations and minimize impact on end users.

  • Develop and utilize expertise in the operation and troubleshooting of positioning and assembly equipment to facilitate maintenance service provider activities relating to this equipment.

  • Research and specify machines and systems needed for operational support.

  • Manage from conception to completion all ad-hoc projects within assigned work stream.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead special projects assigned by manager.

  • Support other departments as needed.

  • Is a technical expert to call for the tender process including contributing to the creation of subcontract specifications and scope of work statements.

  • Provides subcontract advice and counsel to program managers, engineering personnel, and other related functions such as finance, quality and contract administration.

  • Responsible to track follow-up and report on corrective action plans regarding service delivery.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • Strong technical capabilities (analysis of system/machine function, root cause analysis of equipment failures, experience with electric/pneumatic/hydraulic/PLC systems).

  • Strong data analysis and presentation skills ability to technically explain tooling/equipment issues.

  • Capable to manage complex topics with many stakeholders. Strong communication and leadership skills to facilitate resolution of urgent maintenance topics.

  • Strong organization skills able to oversee many ongoing topics.

  • Flexibility to quickly shift priorities based on the needs of the FAL.

Preferred Qualifications (Skills to best fulfill this role):

  • Experience using SAP (ERP system).
  • 3 or more years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 or more years managing subcontractor activities in a production environment.

  • Education/Special Qualifications (schooling, certifications):

A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience successfully managing multiple work-streams in a multi-cultural environment and successfully addressing cultural differences.

Position Summary: The A320 Aircraft Quality Customer Manager is a key player of the Airbus industrial Customer Multi-Functional Team (MFT) (FAL Customer Manager (FCM), Production, Quality, and Flight Test Engineers) and will represent the Airbus Quality organization in front of Customers all along the Aircraft Assembly process till Delivery to the final Customers. Responsible for managing major customer quality issues as part of Airbus delivery team by investigating the technical issue, communicating to the MFT, production team and Airlines /Leaser representatives and initiate and coordinate containment / corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction. Aircraft preparation and delivery phase * Support the FAL Customer Manager along the Customer Acceptance Delivery process (FAL and Delivery Phase) and manage Communication on Quality topics. * Prepare and secure Final Cabin and Hand Over to Delivery * Contribute to Aircraft deliveries On Quality / On Time * Provide Quality Statements Customer Focus * Answer to the Customer request and perform investigations/actions as required to improve Customer Satisfaction (Concession, QSR, Production incident etc.) * Support FCM in Customer Satisfaction (CSIP) feedback loop and be responsible of corrective actions on quality-related items & manage CSIP lessons learnt. Contribute to reach CSIP targets * Control robustness of corrective action plans (PPS FMEA) * Ensure Customer-oriented results and value-added * Accountable to build communication kit and communicate Quality issues towards customers with FCM, incl. proactive major production incident * Support the Customer Multi-Functional Team (MFT) as Customer Quality representative * Provide quality feedback to the airlines/lessors and present on-request quality topics at the customer info session Repetitive Quality Log Book (QLB) reduction * Support QLB analysis at key production phases * Launch containment and corrective actions on recurring topics * Manage eQLB corrective action plan towards FAL/Plants and RSP as necessary * Identity and maintain the list of the Customer Cabin TOP 10 items * Feedback loop * Prepare and organize Awareness at key stations with FCM * Perform analysis on transverse Quality issues to steer/boost the corrective action covering supply chain, FAL & delivery phases (Support to FAL Quality teams) * Launch actions to eradicate recurring and/or critical Concession & challenge the engineering when necessary. * Part of Event and Safety related item (SARI) process for customer quality issues Team support * Work in a transnational environment and Multi-Functional Teams. Able to work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet. * Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 55lbs/25kg which engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects. * Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 55lbs/25kg. * Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas. * Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings. * Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves. * Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time. * Travel: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes. * Walking: able to walk through office and production areas, around flight line and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.
