Job DescriptionEnergize your future by joining the Army National Guard as a Utilities Equipment Repairer.

Utilities Equipment Repairers maintain and repair electrical equipment such as electric motors and electric tools. Some of your duties as a Utilities Equipment Repairer may include maintaining, testing, and repairing electric motors; inspecting and repairing electrical equipment; inspecting and repairing electric instruments; replacing worn gaskets and sealing in watertight electrical equipment; maintaining and repairing gasoline engine systems, air conditioner electrical systems, and portable heater fuel/electrical systems.

The skills you learn as a Utilities Equipment Repairer will help prepare you for a civilian career in any industry that uses equipment powered with electrical motors, including hospitals, manufacturing firms, and governmental agencies. With some additional certification, this occupational specialty could prepare you for self-employment as an electrical tool, motor, and equipment repairer.

Job training for a Utilities Equipment Repairer consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 12 weeks and 3 days of Advanced Individual Training, including practice in repairing electrical products. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

Requires military enlistment. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications. Actual MOS assignment may depend on MOS availability. Benefits subject to change.

This position collects bearing data and prepares the router (work order) for new bearing flow throughout the entire inspection/repair process. The ability of deriving the repair data is in direct correlation with the quality of the repair by assuring that the bearing satisfies the fit, form, and function as required by the FAA operation certificate. The Engineering Technician has a direct influence over the efficiency of the repair process and turn time performance. Key Responsibilities: * Perform technical bearing data collection and prepare data packages for PMA, DER Repairs, Repair Developments and Special Engineering Jobs. * Analyze, evaluate, research, and create all reverse engineering for level I, level II, and level IV bearing repairs. * Perform specific and functional portions of broader assignments in support of technical associates or engineers. Technical analysis and recommendations required. * Performs work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Perform dimensional, geometrical, fit-up, surface finish measurements, and sound tests. Solve problems when deviations from measurements are found. Conducts standard and complex data analysis, calculations, geometrical and mathematical analysis. * Works with minimal supervision in support of engineers in determining requirements requiring extensive functional experience with minimal direction. Capable of exercising judgment related to the knowledge of bearing repair and inspection processes. * Review, edit and update repair data into Manufacturing Resource Planning for MRO ERP system(s). * Perform minor tool design/ modification and support repair process/development projects as well as prototypes. Design requires use of precision tracing equipment and dimensional tools. * Work with Engineers to design specialized tools, and fixtures to enable special measurements required for new bearing repair. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Min High School Diploma, with 5+ yrs. bearing precision inspection * Expertise in bearing repair process, with emphasis on fit-up, lab inspection, dimensional inspection * High level computer skill with MS office, Familiarity with ERP business system structure is a plus * Familiarity with FAA regulations is a plus * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals * Working level understanding of geometric tolerance practices is required * Competency in disassembly of bearings and perform precise measurements * Strong mathematical and analytical skills * Expertise in understanding Aerospace bearing design, read drawings/exploded diagrams * Understanding of gauging set-up and practices * Understanding of bearing types and geometry All qualified applicants shall be treated equally according to their individual qualifications, abilities, experiences and other employment standards.
