Job DescriptionGot a knack for keeping cars and trucks on the road? Then join the Army National Guard as a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and help keep freedom moving forward.

As a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to supervise and perform unit maintenance and recovery operations on gasoline - and diesel - fueled light-wheeled vehicles. In short, if it's on wheels, you'll work on it. And after your paid training, you'll be qualified to maintain and repair any number of vehicle systems and components, preparing you to step right into a civilian vehicle maintenance career.

Job training requires 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

Requires military enlistment. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications. Actual MOS assignment may depend on MOS availability. Benefits subject to change.

Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist in development and expansion of Sealing Products Group primary product lines, utilizing engineering methodologies in conceptual design, product manufacturing, and validation. * Participate in personal, electronic, and / or documented interface with customer engineering staff during program development. * Develop and maintain documentation. * Open issues list for design and engineering related issues. * Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DFMEA). * Design Verification Planning and Reports (DVP&R) with progress reports. * Program archive file * Active participation in Value Analysis and Value Engineering Activities, generating ideas and lead engineering implementation; * Active participation in Benchmarking activities, generating new proposal concepts for our products; * Develop testing concepts for validating unique component features. * Work with Applications Engineering personnel to complete all product designs in accordance with customer requirements and specifications. * Work with the Validation group to complete all product validation per developed DVP&R. * Assist in development of materials and validation of new product concepts. * Interface with manufacturing facilities to ensure design can be manufactured within manufacturing requirements. Education and/or Experience: * Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) Requirements: * Strong written and oral communication skills that allow the individual to express technical information in a clear and concise manner. * Proficient in Microsoft Office software. * Must be a proven self-starter with proven time management ability. * This individual must enjoy working in a team environment as well as independently without constant direct supervision. * Must be able to work under timing pressures and have proven track record of dependability.
