Salary Information:The salary for this position is negotiated through a collective bargaining agreement. All new employees will be hired at the minimum salary in the range and will be eligible for merit increases until reaching the maximum salary in the range.
Starting Annual Salary:
$53,318.34
Six months after hire date (4% merit increase):
$55,451.07
12 months after hire date upon completion of probation (911 Professional II):
$57,448.08
Top of the 911 Professional II salary range (4% annual merit increases):
$85,037.19

Incumbents perform a variety of complex duties involved in the receipt and processing of emergency 9-1-1 and non-emergency police calls for the area served by LVMPD.

Exam Information
You will receive an email no later than 5:00 pm (PST) on Friday, March 7, 2025with instructions to participate in the online CritiCall exam.The deadline for completing the online CritiCall exam will beFriday, March 14, 2025 by 8:00 am (PST). NO EXCEPTIONS.
If you do not have access to a computer to take CritiCall, please contact one of the team members listed under inquiries to request to take CritiCall at LVMPD Headquarters on Friday, March 14, 2025.
The Las Vegas Clark County Library District has computers that can be reserved by referring to the following linkhttps://vwebpcres.lvccld.org/PCResweb/pcres/reserve.pl or by calling 702-507-6091. If you reserve a computer at the library, please make sure to bring headphones.
CritiCall requires an Overall Data Entry score of 3700 keystrokes per hour or higher AND an Overall Non-Data Entry Score of 70% or higher, in order to pass. The keyboard portion requires a typing speed of 35 net words per minute, after errors.
CritiCall is a computer-based assessment used to ensure candidates possess the necessary skills to perform the required duties for the 911 Professional position. CritiCall measures:
Mandatory Seminar-Friday, March 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. (PST)
Candidates that pass CritiCall will be invited to the Mandatory Seminar. Information about the 911 Professional I position will be provided. Candidates that attend the Mandatory Seminar will be placed on an eligibility list.
If you have attended the Mandatory Seminar within 18 months of the Mandatory Seminar date listed above, your attendance will be applied to this process. Therefore, you will not have to reattend the Mandatory Seminar.
If you attend the Mandatory Seminar for this process and re-apply for this position within 18 months, your attendance will be applied to that process.
The LVMPD reserves the right to modify the selection processes and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
Due to security reasons, personal belongings permitted in the testing facility will be limited. Items such as large backpacks, briefcases, duffle bags or similar items may not be allowed. Those items permitted will be left to the discretion of the LVMPD employees administering the examination and may be subject to a search.

Additional Selection Processes
If you successfully complete the above selection process, you will undergo a thorough background investigation, including a polygraph exam. A polygraph examination can be stressful and may affect existing medical or psychological conditions or ongoing treatment. Candidates areencouraged to consult with their personal physicians to discuss whether the polygraph will affect a condition or treatment and then follow the guidance of their medical professional.
The background investigation takes approximately 90 to 120 days to complete. You must also meet the LVMPD Hiring Standards. LVMPD employees participate in the Department's random drug screening process.
