American Welding & Gas, Inc. (Tier 5 Labs) has an exciting career opportunity for a Specialty Gas Operations Manager position in Indianapolis, IN.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Lab Technicians, ensuring effective supervision and team management.
• Conduct research and development activities focused on analytical testing
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, reliability, and compliance standards, meeting all necessary governmental and environmental regulations.
• Prepare gas analysis certification reports for customer distribution.
• Collaborate with supervisors to manage delivery schedules, address product complaints, and handle special product requests.
• Analyze the technical requirements of projects, determining the appropriate methods and techniques to be applied.
• Oversee and manage the calibration and maintenance procedures for laboratory instruments, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards in coordination with the Quality and Safety departments.
• Ensure that calibration standards and raw materials are properly documented and stock levels are consistently maintained.
• Monitor lead times, prioritize tasks, and manage workloads effectively
• Assist with the qualification and upkeep of laboratory standards, ensuring proper inventory management, labeling, documentation, storage, and presentation.
• Support the setup, maintenance, and record-keeping for laboratory instruments according to company's SOPs.
• Contribute as a team member on special projects.
• Utilize or adapt established methods and procedures for laboratory processes.
• Prepare periodic and final progress reports
• Full P&L responsibility for location.
• Collaborate with Specialty Sales teammates to facilitate growth and meet customer needs.
• Supervise and guide other professionals and technicians assigned to projects.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred
• Industrial Gas experience is preferred
• 1-2 years Supervisory experience
• 3-5 years Lab experience
• Experience in gas chromatography, FTIR, and process analyzers
• Prior experience as a Production Supervisor a plus
