The Defense & Intelligence Group with Leidos has an opening for a Network Engineer supporting the Sub-Lan/CANES program at the NUWC Newport, Rhode Island. The programs provide development, integration, test & evaluation, installation and ISEA support for networks aboard submarines.
The programs deliver both classified and unclassified networks using windows based networking (Microsoft Server 2008 and 2012. Windows 7 and 8) Alcatel, CISCO, and other network switches. These networks provide a range of network services, including: e-mail, web browsing, file storage, information security, DNS, and printing. The program spans the full range of Systems Engineering functions, including requirements, design, development, test, platform integration engineering, configuration management, installation and in-service engineering support.
The program is a production/modernization /sustainment program that involves the following activities (and more):

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of professional experience. 4 years of directly related experience can offset the degree requirements.
Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and networks including local and wide area networking.
Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft ISA/TMG Servers, VMWare, Crystal Servers, Alcatel and CISCO switches, information assurance, subsystem integration and installation, COMPOSE 3.0 or 4.0.
Must have an active DOD secret clearance and maintain that level clearance.
Prior submarine networks and onboard software installations.
