Leidos has a career opening for an Corporate Ethics Investigator located in Reston, VA.

POSITION/PROGRAM SUMMARY:

Leidos is looking for a qualified candidate to fill an Ethics Investigator position. As a member of the Ethics and Compliance department, the successful candidate will report to the Director Investigations and will be responsible for investigating allegations of employee misconduct. As a member of the Ethics and Compliance Office, the candidate will also be responsible for supporting departmental initiatives and outreach. Some travel required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Intake, triage, plan, and execute internal investigations into allegations of misconduct.

  • The candidate will function as a fact finder who collects and analyzes financial records, public records, correspondence, and other documentary evidence.

  • The candidate will also be responsible for conducting interviews with employees across the company.

Qualifications:

BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 -7 of related experience.

  • Experience conducting internal corporate investigations or audits (as part of an Ethics, Internal Audit, HR, or Legal function)

  • Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, and enterprise reporting tools

  • Experience conducting searches in forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Axiom, or other tools such as eDiscovery systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
  • Encase Certified Examiner (EnCE)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Corporate Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP)

This position reports to the Contoller and as an executive level position it will require a great deal of maturity and discretion. As the senior financial executive of Veritiss LLC, the Controller will provide leadership in the areas that will result in meeting the financial goals and objectives established by the CEO. The successful candidate will demonstrate broad and deep financial and operational experience as the senior finance executive for a competitive and operations-focused company. This executive must have a stellar reputation that adds to the high ethical credibility of Veritiss LLC, thrive in a growth environment, and set the tone regarding corporate integrity and compliance with regulatory bodies and governmental statutes. In addition to having outstanding management and financial skills, the successful candidate will have demonstrated solid strategic and managerial instincts with additional responsibilities not limited to the following: Responsibilities: * Direct and oversee all financial activities and accounting practices at Veritiss LLC and has the primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company, including accounting, finance and contracts department, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax, compliance and audit functions. * Work as a strategic partner with the CEO and executive management team to address opportunities for growth while establishing and maintaining discipline in cost management, financial management, reporting, and capital structure. * Communicate effectively with the CEO, COO, and entire executive management team. Provide timely, accurate and useful information, performance metrics, and reporting for internal use and as directed. * Ensure the integrity of the Company's financials by establishing appropriate procedures, systems and controls, and timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis. * Establish sound procedures so that accounting records provide accurate and timely information in accordance with generally accepting accounting principles (GAAP) and are in compliance with federal, state, local and international tax jurisdictions. * Provide direction and leadership for the financial strategy and business planning, including strategic focus on operating cost efficiencies, across the business. * Develop relationships and proactively engaging with business-unit and functional leadership, gaining perspective on challenges and opportunities in the field. * Drive continuous improvement in areas such as expense management, financial analysis and reporting, system infrastructure, back office and standardized business processes with an eye toward streamlining and improving business performance. Work closely with all functions to improve effectiveness and delivery of high quality performance company-wide. * Be responsible for measurement-based financial management throughout the business to ensure accurate planning, forecasting and reporting in support of business initiatives. Communicate performance gaps to ensure corrective actions are understood and implemented. * Be capable of rolling up his/her sleeves if necessary and be comfortable with all financial and accounting details. * All other duties as assigned Education/Experience: * BS in Accounting or Finance with 10+ years of progressive experience with increasing responsibilities. * MBA and/or CPA highly desirable Required Skills: * In-depth experience of U.S. Government Contracting is REQUIRED * 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles in government contracting. * Excellent leadership and human relations abilities. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and communicate at all levels of the organization. * Highly ethical and able to consistently demonstrate and reinforce the highest level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency, teamwork, and a positive results-orientation. * Ability to interpret strategic and operational business requirements, providing appropriate expert advice and financial planning counsel to effectively influence the organization's approach. * Understanding of overall business strategies and how they translate to operations, and the ability to deploy operational financial tactics that contribute to short-term and long-term business objectives. * Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses. * Able to organize, coordinate, and direct projects with solid analytical and technical skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Experience with Deltek GCS Premier and Microsoft Office suite * Experience preparing for and managing DCAA and customer specific audits * Experience developing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US Government contracting requirements (FAR and CAS) as well as familiarity with GSA Schedules * In-depth understanding of rate development process and various options available to support multiple bid strategies * Hands on experience in preparing disclosure statements, incurred cost submissions and contract close-outs * Experience creating best in class internal financial operations, including accounting practices, billing and collections, financial planning and analysis, internal audit, back office systems, etc. * Implementing regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
