Description:

Leidos has an immediate opportunity for a CAD Designer in our Framingham, MA office. This position requires an Associates degree in Engineering.

The successful candidate will work in a team atmosphere to provide technical and project support for distribution line projects and other tasks, as assigned. He/she will be responsible for design and planning efforts related to distribution physical facilities. This includes preparation of drawings specifications and reports to define the scope of work associated with the construction of distribution lines.

He/she will prepare or review Construction One-Line Drawings, Plan View Drawings, Plan and Profile Drawings, Permit Drawings, Easement Sketches, Petition Sketches, and Land Base Surveys utilizing AutoCAD. He/she will support engineers with specific assignments like reviewing supplied drawings, balancing schedules and due dates, and perform analyses in association with distribution projects. Additionally, the successful candidate will periodically interface with clients, and will provide assistance to Project Engineer.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering with 0-1 years of experience.

  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communications skills required

  • Detail oriented

  • AutoCAD experience

  • Microstation experience desired

  • Ability to learn/pick up various distribution specific software and standards (PLS CADD, Sag 10, etc.)

Check layouts and drawings for clarity, conformity to standards, procedures, etc. Interact with internal and external customers to assess their needs, and develop products that meet their requirements. Meet internal and external customer deliverables in a timely and efficient manner. Requirements: At a minimum an Associate’s degree in mechanical design or related field. Curiosity, intelligence and energy. Minimum 3-4 years design and drafting experience including 1-2 years of extensive design documentation work. Expertise in use of CAD utilizing 3D modeling. Knowledge of NX11 or higher and Solidworks is a plus. Knowledge of metals, plastics, machining, casting and molding. Excellent interpersonal skills. Knowledge of WindChill is a plus.
