Summit Technologies, Inc. has an opportunity for a full-time IT Project Manager with Banking and/or Finance background. The successful candidate will be part of our clients PMO providing project management of various projects. This on-site position is located in
Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities:

Manage projects from initiation through delivery and close.

Creates, manages and executes project plans.

Ensures the establishment of scope and priorities, management of risks / issues / dependencies, implementation of solutions, and change management activities.

Conduct a kick-off meeting with all key stakeholders in order to announce the start of the project, and review the overall project plan and gain consensus.

Fosters the highest level of commitment among co-workers through transparent and clear direct communication about business challenges, successes and results.

Act as a liaison between IT and the business user community to manage expectations, scope and schedule.

Write business use cases and technical specifications for the development staff as needed.

Provide support during the transition between project work and ongoing production support as needed.

Make presentation to management on project updates and expected results.

Provide documentation as needed to meet department policies/standards.

Work Experience &

Skills:

Total of 8+ years of progressive work experience, with 3 years, as a Project Manager, Project Coordinator or Project Technician in a banking or finance services organization.

2+ years of analyzing business process experience a plus.

A solid understanding of Waterfall and Agile Methodologies.

Demonstrated understanding of technical architecture of information systems.

Skilled in managing multiple small projects to individual multi-million dollar project.

Soft Skills & Attributes:

Motivated self-starter with a direct communications style desired.

Experience facilitating various projects in a quiet and professional manner.

Is self-directed and focused on activities and outcomes that benefit the user community.

Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business professionals at all levels of the organization.

Strong analysis skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time effectively is required.

Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities required.

Strong organizational skills, proven analytical, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Ability to collaborate with supporting resources across business and/or functional lines experience desired.

Education & Certification:

A Bachelors degree.

A PMP certification preferred.

Proficiency with MS Project, MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint required.

Clarity of other PPM tool experience a plus.

This position is knowledgeable in building systems and construction methods specifically in a health care environment. This position develops concepts and plans for facility growth or change in service as well as capital upkeep and replacement. The key role of this position is advisor to each individual facility managing director to assist in growth planning and implementation, as it relates to buildings and facility campus. This position has responsibility to oversee other Assistant PM and Regional PM as assigned to provide guidance on project decisions and regulatory interface. A Mentoring relationship will be required. Essential Job Duties Work closely with RVP, C-suite, RFM/DPO, FF&E and IT in the development of project scope and price. Differentiates between priority business needs and "nice-to-have???s" in order to assist in determining project priority and to resolve resource conflicts. Works closely with user groups to learn all aspects of user requirements in order to provide effective advice and recommendation. Ensure projects are completed on budget and schedule and that the projects incorporate the latest Behavioral Health/Acute best practices. Have the ability to manage multiple, large projects at one time with some supervision. Develop/engage project teams using a competitive RFP process. Assist in guiding project through local, State and Federal building restrictions and code compliance. Accurate budgeting, scheduling, logistics, ICRA, ILSM from conception through completion. Follow the CAR/PAC process for pre-validation, validation and request for full funding. Take a leadership role in finding new methods/approaches to help execute work faster and more efficiently. Challenge assumptions and bring new ideas to the table that could benefit the entire department in executing our role. Maintain a vendor ranking and ensure we reinforce success by re-engaging firms that perform excellent work and value the relationships in the system. Collecting historical cost and schedule data to utilize in predicting future cost and time to execute projects (send to corporate at projection completion). Ensure all parties on the project have executed a contract and have provided all the required insurances prior to commencing work. Ensure the highest ethical standards when dealing with our vendors. Ensure vendors compliant with the terms of the agreement and that the business terms agreed are fair to both the vendor. Use business term guidelines. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred. At least 5 years of hospital construction experience required Travel 25% to 50%; strong leadership skills; specific construction implementation experience, some development experience, code and permit knowledge, negotiating skills, strong interpersonal skills to lead vendors, solid business decision making skills.
