Cloud Applications Evangelist
Do you love innovating and solving problems, and then sharing this new knowledge with the community for their benefit? The DXC Cloud applications team is looking for someone who loves engineering and who also loves to communicate with the rest of the business and developer community. This role is focused on making peoples' lives better by engaging with a large community and fostering their skills by evangelizing the latest technologies and best practices around cloud applications.
To be successful in this role, you must strong communication skills (written and verbal). You will have extensive working knowledge of real-world problems and good instincts on identifying customer and developer needs and bringing them back to the rest of the core product and engineering team to work on. You must love interacting with and learning from a diverse client community, and will draw energy from contributing positively to this community.
On this team, you will be working with one of the largest system integrator communities in the world, and help enabling their transformation to the cloud. You will:
Work closely with our customers to find problems and share solutions
Speak, write and otherwise share innovations with the community
Participate in solving real-world performance and large-scale problems
Experience in a technical customer-facing role
5+ years professional experience in software development
Proficiency in, at least, two modern programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or Ruby.
Experience contributing to open source projects, preferably contributing to a runtime or widely used library.
Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
Practice of modern software engineering, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and releasing.
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
Experience influencing software engineers' best practices in your organization.
Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between.
Your role will consist of a wide array of different areas and functions on a day-to-day basis, so you will not get bored. We need you to act as a founder of developer advocacy in a highly infrastructure central business and help drive culture change throughout the organization.
Generate momentum internally and externally around Cloud Applications including
Attends user groups
Presents at conferences
Represents the DXC in online communities
Interacts with experts,
Demonstrates the product at peer events and other client related
Customer education about the technical and business benefits
Work with marketing to develop content marketing strategies (thought leadership, share technical content (blogs, articles, podcasts, videos, demos, etc.) to build brand awareness in the space
Lead industry relations with Cloud Foundry Foundation, CNCF and similar organizations
Build a pool of followers to participate in joint sessions at conferences and other events
Work with partners like Microsoft, AWS, Google, Red Hat and Google to educate their staff on our offerings
Work to build POCs, Pilots for quick customer engagement and buy-in in days/week
Build a pipeline for CNAD services
Help internal stakeholders and customers leverage open, agile, and adaptable application technologies including functions, containers, Kubernetes, and microservices
Analyze customer specifications and suggest and justify CNAD to solution architects, customers and sales executives
Provide direct input into product roadmaps and actively participate in high profile steering committees (internally, externally)
Guide the development of the next generation innovative digital business applications that use AI, ML, IOT, Block Chain and HPC.
