Job Description

The Maintenance Technical Lead is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and predictive maintenance of all equipment in the facility. This position is expected to attain daily scheduling goals in an efficient and resourceful manner. This position also works closely with Maintenance and Maintenance Area Leads.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Trouble shoots and diagnoses equipment problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments

  • Perform root cause analysis and provide long term corrective solutions to aid in the continuous improvement process

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on electrical components of machines

  • Create PM's in AMMS and hand out to appropriate Mechanics

  • Perform safety checks on equipment and maintain a clean work area

  • Troubleshoot PLC's using PTU or laptop to understand or change ladder logic

  • Know what LOTO is and how to apply it correctly

  • Know what 5S is and how to apply it to the maintenance department

  • Make shift schedules for mechanics

  • Contact Vendors for parts

  • Check Daily work cards of Mechanics for accuracy and machinery problems

  • Ensure Mechanics are keeping their 5S area clean

  • Know how to use the Planned maintenance program AMMS to make work orders and complete planned maintenance orders

    Qualifications

  • Advanced Electrical Knowledge- Industrial Electrician (wring and load calculations)

  • Advanced Motor Technology- VFD, PD, Servo, A/C (understand parameters and control)

  • Know Steam piping and understanding the basic components of a steam system

  • Know how to operate and maintain different types of conveyors

  • Know how to grease bearings and add oil to gearboxes correctly

  • Ability to read advanced blueprints / mechanical drawings

  • Ability to read advanced wiring diagrams

  • Find parts using manuals and online resources

  • Be Arc Flash compliant and know what tools and safety equipment to use in different situations

  • Know how to operate, maintain and program Domino/Vidoe jet printers and traversers

  • Advanced math (knowing how calculate times and heat temperatures)

  • Good communication skills

  • Good attitude/team worker and leader

  • Have advanced mechanic tools

  • Be Arc Flash compliant and know what tools and safety equipment to use in different situations

  • Know what 5S is and how to implement it

  • Advanced fabrication using lathe, drill and mig/tig welding

  • Know GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals)

  • Understand Boiler systems on how to control and operate them

  • Understand Air compressors on how to control and operate them

  • Complete Calibrations of all RTD's and chart recorders

    Physical requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to stand for extended periods of time as well as walk and climb stairs. Bending and squatting may be required along with lifting up to 50 pounds. The associate is frequently required to use arms to reach out and us hands to grasp objects and/or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
