Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of CDI/Coder Analytics Trainer will work with a team that is savvy, creative, experienced trainers who go onsite with our clients every day, to help facilitate the use of 3M HIS software implementations. We share a collective commitment to quality, clinical documentation improvements, and coding - and ultimately to helping our clients improve quality outcomes. CDI and Coding boundaries are blurring and aligning, along with Quality. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Introduction, demonstration and training of users of current and developing applications: 3M 360 Encompass / CDIS software, 3M Coding and Reimbursement System, and others

  • Delivery of live classroom- and web- based training, as well as contribution to asynchronous training

  • Instruction on creation and basic interpretation of relevant reports and related metrics

  • May provide education on coding regulations, documentation, compliance and best practices, for these and other specialty programs as determined

  • May serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME), mentor and contributor to internal 3M HIS teams, such as Implementations, Support, Documentation, Instructional Design or others as designated

  • Assist with project pre-planning, as well as post go-live follow up

  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess an Associate's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • RN license or RHIT/RHIA Certification

  • Minimum of five (5) years working with physicians on coding documentation requirements and documentation to improve quality outcomes OR combined experience in inpatient/outpatient coding, healthcare regulatory and/or management experience in a clinical setting

  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree with focus on Health Care: Health Information Management, Public Health, Business, Nursing, Informatics

  • 1+ recent years of ICD-10 coding training experience

  • 3+ years as Coder/Coding Auditor/CDI Specialist or Health Informatics or Population Health Analyst/Clinical Instructor

  • ICD-10 Certified Trainer

  • 3+ Years of Utilization Review, Case Management or Quality Management or Compliance experience

  • Fluent in 3M Coding and Reimbursement System application, Coding and Clinical Education specific to CDI Programs

  • Coding Knowledge and Coding education as it relates to documentation and quality improvement

  • ICD-9/ICD-10 Data Analysis

Location: Remote (near a major airport)

Travel: May include up to 75% domestic
