Description

Primary: To provide mechanical/electrical support for all production equipment.

Primary: To maintain all process machinery in top working condition. Be proactive on preventive maintenance and machine reliability. To provide and suggest continuous improvement changes to equipment.

Primary: To continue your education and provide a training development plan to align yourself with your job requirements.

Secondary: To work with operations and engineering on machine updates and improvements.

  • Understand all job related functions and quality requirements.

  • Ensure quality & safety standards are met; report unsafe conditions, accidents or injuries per Andersen's safety policy.

  • Participate in all required training.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain all production equipment.

  • Basic knowledge in welding, machining, machine building, hydraulics and pneumatics.

  • Make mechanical additions, modifications, design changes, and retrofit machine parts to existing equipment.

  • Basic knowledge at reading schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints.

  • Input design ideas for new machinery and equipment.

  • Ensure proper preventative maintenance is performed on equipment.

  • Ensure workspace is clean, safe and organized.

  • Provide input and feedback to supervisor in regard to job performance.

  • Perform special duties or assignments as required.

  • Assist or perform other departmental jobs as directed.

Qualifications

  • Prefer formal education with degree or diploma in related field Technical College (or equal).

  • Basic computer skills. (CMMS, Microsoft office skills, Outlook, Word, and Excel)

  • Basic understanding of buildings/grounds infrastructures. (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, building structure, etc.).

  • Strong customer focus: Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal customers, service providers, supervisor, and fellow workers.

  • Required knowledge of using proper PPE. (Personal Protective Equipment).

  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills; ability to work in a team environment.

  • Machine blueprint reading.

  • Welding skills.

  • Power Transmission componentry, and pneumatics experience.

  • Basic mechanical / electrical skills.

  • Occasionally working near hot equipment and / or materials.

  • Occasionally push-pull, lift/carry 10-100 pound.

  • Occasionally squat, crawl, lift heavy material, job requires repetitive actions: simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulating with both hands, installing and maintaining equipment that requires climbing and crawling.

  • Good physical condition. Note: Job requires extensive physical activity to include heavy lifting, climbing ladders, heights, etc.

  • Willing to work flexible hours, shifts, and weekends when needed.

Job Description The Maintenance Team Department Manager is responsible for overall management of the Maintenance function, supporting the production of high quality nutritional supplements with maximum operating effectiveness and safety. This role is a critical member of the Plant Management Team and is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all plant and facility equipment as well as the technical direction of the Maintenance Staff, as well as adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect, assuring the safety, quality and quantity of product produced. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Manages the Maintenance organization to ensure that the plant runs most optimally * Provides guidance, direction, and motivation to Maintenance and Operations Associates to encourage ownership of results at the Associate and team level * Build technical capability of Maintenance Department and Operating Department Associates * Manages critical components of Total Productive Maintenance, including the Centerline program, Preventive Maintenance programs, parts and storeroom operations, Clean/Inspect/Lubricate programs, etc. * Creates a culture of an integrated approach to maintenance, based on teamwork and cooperation operating teams and Maintenance Associates * Ensures compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and cGMP guidelines * Ensures all associates receive proper training, such as GMP, SOP, Safety, and Operations * Monitors associate performance and provides coaching and training as required Qualifications * 10+ years of experience in the management of high speed manufacturing equipment, including all elements of TPM. * Detailed knowledge of mechanical and electrical machine repair, PLC, preventative maintenance, HVAC, as well as the safe and efficient operation of plant utilities, such as boilers and chillers is required. * A background in the food, drug or nutritional industry is strongly preferred. * A Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is strongly preferred and/or equivalent military maintenance leadership experience. An alternative, relevant engineering degree (e.g. chemical engineering) may be potentially acceptable credential for a candidate with professional experience that closely matches this particular role. * The ability to effectively provide coaching and direction to Maintenance leaders, Team Leaders, and Associates in maintenance and operations. * The ability to create and implement TPM, autonomous maintenance and work team based systems. * The ability to effectively communicate to and collaborate with senior management, outside consultants, suppliers and team.
