Position Summary

The objective of the Internship program is to assist students in applying educational knowledge to real world applications to expand overall learning and provide guidance in streamlining career choices.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support Human Resources with ongoing or new projects.

  • Projects will support one of more of the HR Center of Excellence areas (Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation, HR Operations) or with HR business partner work.

  • The HR Intern will be exposed to related business and HR meetings, HR processes and administration.

  • The student will be expected to report on his/her experience at the completion of the Intern period.


Must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Business program. Minimum GPA of 3.20 or higher.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written).

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to work independently, learn new tasks/handle multiple tasks simultaneously, identify and solve problems, meet deadlines and show strong self-motivation and initiative.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Other duties may be assigned. * Records and maintains employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, performance reviews, and training. * Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses. Responsible for year-end file maintenance. * Researches employee records to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons such as unemployment benefit claims, subpoenaed records, etc. * Creates offer and exit letters, wage letters and documentation for HR Manager approval. * Assists with sending onboarding packets. * Provides audit support and backup to HR and payroll. * Distributes HR mail and processes returned USPS mail; assists with departmental mailings. * Updates and maintains legal postings for all locations to assure compliance with state and federal requirements. * Assists with company events such as Annual Service Awards, Flu Clinics, and other seasonal events. * Maintains and orders departmental office supplies. * Uses discretion and maintains confidentiality. * Supports special projects as required. * Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with MS Office. ADP WFN experience is a plus. 15-20 hours a week/flexible 4 or 5 days a week.
