Position Summary:

Use demand signals to plan, prepare, and implement negotiation strategies. Manage effective competitive bidding process including analyzing and evaluating proposals along with negotiating and selecting or recommending suppliers. Manage inventory levels to maximize turns while maintaining fill rates.

Position Responsibilities (may include but not limited to):

  • Perform a variety of activities in support of successfully procuring and arranging for delivery of materials, services, and supplies for assigned parts/commodities.

  • Develops and implements negotiations strategies that have financial impacts to the company.

  • Maintains and supports existing contracts with amendments, SOW changes and extensions.

  • Act as a liaison in arranging meetings between potential suppliers and internal customers.

  • Understands and utilizes supply chain management strategies to drive breakthrough performance in current metrics and future metrics.

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with a broad spectrum of internal customers including staff across the Textron business units.

  • Monitors respective markets and provides market insight to business teams. Understands and implements pricing strategies to capitalize on and protect against business and market volatility.


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to generate quantitative improvements in supplier delivery, quality, and costs is very desirable

  • Self-motivated, persistent, hands-on, result oriented, well organized with ability to handle multiple. projects within expected time frame with a sense of urgency

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills are required

  • Ability to work in a close team environment and under tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize as necessary

  • Highly responsive to internal and external customer requirements, with a high attention for detail

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to make critical decisions and problem solve

VIEW JOBS 11/27/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-25T00:00 Requisition #: 10453 Shift : 2 Start Time : 2:00 pm End Time : 10:30 pm Schedule Days : Monday - Friday Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week) Job Summary Repair and/or rebuild structurally failed or worn parts requiring welding process reconstruction. Work in adverse weather and other adverse shop and field situations presented by customer needs. Accept all out of town assignments requiring overnight stays. Communicate orally and in writing information, instructions, and explanations to associates, customers, and management regarding conditions, problems, and recommendations. Experience with structural repair and restoration of large components, occasionally over 20,000 pounds is highly desirable. Prior experience with shop and/or field machining practices and processes are also highly desirable. Ideal candidate should have sufficient experience with a variety of weld-repair processes including: sub-arc (SAW), FCAW (gas-shielded flux cored wires), GMAW (solid MIG wire), GTAW (TIG), brazing, soldering, pre-heating, post-heating, and stress-relieving. Experience repairing low-alloy carbon steel, medium-alloy steel, cast iron, and aluminum are highly desirable. Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities * Fabricate and/or repair metal parts. * Comprehend and interpret sketches and diagrams. * Operate welding equipment. * Prepare service reports. * Plan and control cost of repair jobs. * Maintain company equipment – keep in good clean orderly condition. * Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards. * Own and maintain required personal tools. * Learn and use Empire, Caterpillar and allied product procedures and systems. * Perform other related duties as assigned. * Maintain current MSHA card if work area requires. * Provide on-the-job training to technicians and helpers as assigned. * Work overtime as needed. * Travel to remote locations as needed. * Communicate with proper individuals to clarify instructions or discuss scope or progress of job. * Must accomplish training and serve as a Green Belt in support of EMPIRE's Six Sigma program. * Work within and promote corporate values. Additional Requirements * Basic knowledge of heat stresses in metal * Know proper use of cleaners and solvents Skills & Abilities Able to read and correctly interpret diagrams & blueprints Acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements. Appropriate manner, conduct and grooming to adhere to company policy. Must have interpersonal skills and mechanical aptitude skills.
